Becker's Family -Day to show
appreciation for past business
EXETER - Becker Farm Equipment's family day on Saturday, February'.
27 as part of their 12 day parts trade fair is designed to say thanks to their
many area customers for past business.
The.day begins -at 8 a.m. with a full pancake breakfast and will be fol-
lowed at 9.30 a.m. by a Family Safety Program which will include family
entertainment on the lighter side by "Madame Buskerfly along with films,
cartoons, displays and guest speakers.
This is the 61st year in the farm equipment business for the Becker fttmi
ly. It was started in 1932 in Dashwood by Valentine Becker and is now
operated by sons Bill as president and Bob as general manager.
Bob Becker says the emphasis in 1993 will be "On improving our abili-
ty to serve our customers in parts and service and maintain our new motto
of " Helping farmers grow in their field."
ate parts trade fairnunning from February 22 to March 6 will include 12
days of spring savings. A parts fair order book with 8,500 copies printed is
being distributed this week to Western Ontario farmers.
-Becker says, " The booklet will list what parts are available, the prices
and discounts, etc. It is an opportunity for customers to buy parts in vol-
ume at discount prices and let thein know about Case IH and our other 25
plus major part suppliers."
Talking about 1992, Beckersays, " We hada signup saying we refuse to
participate in the recession.'We say it never took place. Our type of busi-
ness is more affected by the weatherithan the recession."
Hz continued, "Last December avas one of :the best months we ever had,
mainly because of the federal govemment's capital cost allowance grant sof
10 percent on new equipment.'This'pun will continue until December 31,-
1993. We also offer 3.9 percent financing on select used equipment."
Becker's have also initiated a CUP program. It's a certified up -time ser-
vice inspection / repair procedure:totelp farmersprotect their investments
sand ensure maximum tradoiin values. The annual equipment inspections
:are performed by qualified experienced servicemen.

On:Friday, February 26, ,machinery clinirs will be held at which time
two new products Will -be introduced at the Highway 4 south in Exeter lo-

verferth. This.is ithe latestin :no-till•procedures whereby only strips of
- ground where.:the.seed is planted are touched. It also includes chemical
end fertilizen*pplication equipment.
