To say the 'Hueter Legion pee- wees are on a roll is a little bit of an understatement. But call it what you will, the lo- cals have now won six straight On- tario Minor Hockey Association post -season games and are now in the 'CC' quarter -finals. Now awaiting the winner of the Dresden-Ridgetown series, the pee- wees eliminated Lambeth Wednes- day night with a 12-1 win. Captain Dave Farquhar had four goals and an assist while Jeff MacLean had two tallies and an as- sist. Assisting were Sims, Bell, Gilfillan, Mauer, Farquhar and Marshall. Series tied: After a tough match - up with Forest, the Exeter Atom Broncos are in another battle with Lambeth. After winning the opening game of the six -point series, Lambeth won 4-2 on Wednesday, 2-1 on Fri- day before the Broncos game back and won 3-1 on Sunday. The fifth game was scheduled for last night in Lambeth. On Wednesday, Chad Moneith and Ryan Ralph scored with assists to Craig Overholt and Jason Grazi- er. 'ileo An Exeter Legion peewee player stumbled to the ice against Lambeth on Wednesday. teamed for the lone goal on Friday. Exeter goalie Jeff Gooch stopped 20 shots. Sunday, the Broncos took a 3-1 lead into the third period and main- tained it allowing Lambeth only five shots on Ryan Sullivan in the final frame. Monteith paced the offence with two goals and an assists while Ralph also connected. Cole, lan MacDougall, Scott Keys, Peter Fre- giskatos and Tim Mauer also as- sisted. Bantams eliminated: Wednes- day night in Exeter, the Legion Bantams saw their OMHA season come to an end as they were elimi- nated by Lambeth in a 9-2 score. Jeff McLean and Marty DeBruyn had the Exeter goals while Rob Lynn, Ben Guenther and Jason Lin- denfield had the assists. The night beforein Lambeth, Exeter lost 3-0. Times -Advocate, February 17, 1993 Page 15 Basketball Senior Panthers edged in overtime GODERICH - Although they played a very strong defensive, game the South Huron District High School senior boys' basket- ball team came up one basket short of beating host Goderich Vikings Friday afternoon. In overtime, the Vikings won the Huron Conference game, 50-48. Ryan Stuart had 17 points for the Panthers while Simon Dinney, Mark Lynn and Wayne Robinson -tad strong defensive games. Wednesday in Exeter against Clinton's Central Huron Redman, Stuart netted 14 points and Greg Agnew added 13 in a 54-49 Pan- thers win. Juniors In junior action, the Redmen had a height advantage and used it to crash the boards as they beat South Huron 43-33. Bryan McAllister who had 21 points, had two three pointers in the first half for the Panthers which led 21-19 at the break. Jeremy Horne added eight points.
