RUSSELDALE - Bob Ulch, president of Russeldale Farm Equipment
said this week he feels the recession is coming to an end and " I am antici-
pating a better year for 1993 for farmers and farm related businesses".
Ulch continued, " Although the crystal ball is a little fuzzy, 1 have a feel-
ing things are going to turn around with the economy and the weather. The
government's new investment Tax Credit will certainly be benefioial to
those,,farmers planning on purchasing new equipment".
Russeldale Farm Equipment has been operated by Bob Ulch since 1966
and carries a full line of Massey Ferguson tractors and combines, White
tractors and White New Idea planters, tillage equipment and manure
spreaders. Also in stock are Kongskilde plows and cultivators, Nardi
sprayers, Massey Ferguson garden and -lawn equipment and Haybustcr
drills.
A number of Massey Ferguson 3000 tractors for 1993 include "Dyna -
shift", a new advanced powershift transmission. •
Bob Uich says,,"7he Dynashift transmission is a new and different kind
of powershift gearbox with flexibility of operation and simplicity of de-
sign that sets new standards for higher horsepower tractors".
Dynashift is available as standard equipment on the MF 3670 tractor
(154 PTO hp) and as an option for the MF 3660 (140 PTO hp) and MF
3690 (170 PTO hp). -
Dynashift offers the unique combination of a four -speed powershift in
each of eight synchronized gears plus a synchronized forward/reverse
shuttle. The operator has 32 forward and 32 reverse gears for unmatched
flexibility in choosing a gear to match varying field conditions. Once a
field working range is defined, there are a multitude of available speeds
from the top to the bottom of the range.
Dynashift features "close ratio" steps of only 17 percent allowing the op •
-
orator to react to relatively small load changes for maximum efficiency at
all times.
The Dynashift range selector is conveniently positioned on• the left side
of the steering column. This allows the operator to steer and change
speeds with the left hand, leaving the'right hand free to operate other con-
trols.
A separate shuttle control lever to the operator's right permits changing x•
from forward to reverse, and back, without having to change gears. This
results in effortless headland turns and faster cycle times.
Russeldale Farm Equipment has a full-time staff & nine employees, in-
cluding Bob Ulch and his wife Mildred who is office manager and secre-
tary -treasurer. The parts department consists of parts manager Larry Elliott
and Dan Witschi. Doug Bell is service manager. The mechanics are Bob
Wilker, apprentices Wes Quest and Jasson Christie and co-op student ap-
prentice Perry Lealess.
