Bend 'Golden Agers attended the
Club's February luncheon meeting
Wednesday at the Royal Canadian
Legion #498.
President Ron Dann chaired the
meeting and introduced guest
speakers Irene and Leo Hoffman
from Zurich who demonstrated var-
ious methods of creating many dif-
ferent types of crafts.
After considerable interest was
expressed by club members, both
male and female, Irene and Leo ac-
cepted an invitation to start teach-
ing the craft of needlepunch start-
ing Tuesday, February 16 at 1:30
p.m. in the Legion hall. Classes
will continue every Tuesday for
eight weeks. Lessons and material
will be free to all club members un-
der provisions of its $14,925 New
+Horizons grant.
President Dann announced that
'the Golden Agers New Horizons
Board of Directors has purchased
24 new 36 inch.card tables, is nego-
tiating the purchase of a new full
size Yamaha Clavinova and has or-
dered all new shuffleboard equip-
ment for its four courts in the Le-
gion hall.
Shuffleboard convener Lloyd
Mousseau then invited club mem-
bers to participate in Monday after-
noon and Thursday moming shuf-
fleboard. More than 25 players are
now participating twice weekly..
Free instruction for new players.
Club endues continue every sec-
ond and fourth Wednesday of each
month at 7:30 p.m. at the Legion.
Everyone 55 years and up from
Grand Bend and surrounding areas
are invited.
Congratulations were extended to
members Dorothy Cutting and
coach Jean Dann from the Monday
morning Golden Agers bowlers at
Zurich who have qualified to com-
pete in the Ontario Kids and Gold-
en Agers team championships
March 7 at Toronto.
The next luncheon meeting at
12:15 Wednesday, March 3 will
feature Stan Francic, from Grand
Bend Big V, speaking about the
safety and proper use of today's
prescribed medication for seniors.

LUCAN - The Holiday Classic
House Rounds were held this past
weekend at Lucan Lanes. The Holi-
day Classics started in December as
league rounds. The top five bowlers
from leach league advanced to the
house rounds. The teams of five
made up of all men or all women or
mixed bowled their team's average.
The Monday Night ladies advanc-
ing to the Regional Finals in Strath-
roy on April 5, 1993 are:
Marg Young 537, Pat Hodgins
1643, Shirley Rees 629, Barb Tux -
ford 690, Pat Davis 526.
It was a battle down to the last
frame, between a couple of teams.

DASHWOOD - Calvary United
Church, Dashwood held its Annual
Congregational Meeting on Sunday,
February 7 -with a good attendance.

Here are some guidelines to follow in preparing your resume:
U Make it clear, concise and easy to read - and no longer
than two pages

U Start with your name, address and phone number
LI Next under a sub -heading "Work History.' detail the
previous jobs you've held - in reverse date order
- that is, last job first.
LI . Use a separate paragraph for each position and
precede it with the dates you held that position.
U State the job title, a brief description of the
responsibilities - and the results you achieved.
U The next seetionppf your resume should come under the
sub -heading of "Education". Start with the highest
degree obtained or grade completed, followed by the
name of the institution at which you studied. Follow
this with previous education attainments. At the end,
list any specific instructional courses you have
attended in conjunction with your work.
U Under the sub -heading "Affiliations", list memberships
and/or offices held in professional or industry -
associations.
(% Under the sub -heading "Personal Interests" list any
activities which you feel will be of interest to the
employer - such as volunteer work, etc.ery
Your letter of application and your resume wHI be the
factors that make the employer decide whether to short
list you for an interview. So make It as impressive
as you can - but stick to the facts.

ZUR''H - The Black Tower Pro-
vincial Team Championships five
week pins over average qualifying
round winds up this week "in Blue -
water Bowlers' Association zone
bowling centres.
League winning teams then ad-
vance to the zone round between
February 28 and March 14, leading
to the Regional finals April 18 in
an Ontario Five Pin Bowlers' Asso-
ciation (O.F.P.B.A.) designated lo-
cation.
Sleeman Holiday Classic
Sleeman Holiday Classic Blue -
water and Zurich Association Slee-
man league teams complete their
house rounds this week with win-
ning Sleeman teams advancing to
the Regional finals April 4 at an
O.F.P.B.A. location.
M.B.A. Master -Bantam
Bluewater Zone's Youth Bowling
Council (Y.B.C.) bantam (10 years
and under) will complete their two
week Master Bowlers' Association
(M.B.A.) qualifying round this
week to compote in the Master -
Bantam Regional rolloffs March
.14. One girl and ope boy will bowl
as a Master -Bantam team with a
Master bowler.
Y.B.C. Zone Finals
Y.B.C. bantam (10 and under),
junior (11-13) and senior (14-18)
girls and boys singles and team
zone finals will take place Sunday
in various Bluewater centres. Blue -
water winners advance to the
Southern Ontario Championships
in March.
Zurich seniors

ZURICH - Zurich Senior Diners
met February 3 with a good atten-
dance. Tammy Antaya welcomed
all diners and visitors and informed
everyone of upcoming events. The.
bus going to the Ice Capades March
13 is filled. The 50/50 draw was
won by Elaine Prouse, Goderich.
Gertie Ffeischauer read a poem "A
Shadow for Spring."
