fourth game of the season, a 44
decision to the Mitchell Hawks.
While the Hawks celebrated after
the game, the Irish were not that
upset with the outcome.
"1 was pleased with the perfor-
mance today," said Lucan coach
Ken Needham. "It's like they
(Mitchell) won the Stanley Cup.
One game doesn't make a setttwo."
Mitchell moved to within three
points of the Irish but Lucan is still
in first place with a 27-4-2 record.
• Lucan was without captain Andy
Ross and veteran defenseman Ed
VanKeroerle who sat out the sec-
ond game of their two -game sus-
pensions and Jason Reidhead,
Ryan Beliveau, Greg DePrest, Der-
ek Greenlee and Craig Brown all
with injuries.
"I'm not upset, we played hard
but they played hard," said Lucan
forward Stever Snider who had a
goal for the hosts. "The seven guys
out hurt us but we still played
well."
Lucan scored first when Sean
Kaczmarek netted a shorthanded
goal and it was almost 2-0 but
Brian Schuyler's goal was disal-
lowed because a penalty had been
called.
Erik Haefling who along with
Lucan's Jason Wilson went to she
penalty box seven seconds into the
game, scored to tie it for the visi-
tors.
"We knew they were going to be
like . that. There .always like .that
when they play us," said Needham
of the game which was very physi-

Friday night in Pe&rolia, it was

...five assists
the first time the Mohawks failed
to score. This was a very important
game as first place was up 'tor
grabs and there is a good chance
the i.wo could face each other in the
league final.
Aylmer always seem to give the
Mohawks a hard lime and last
Tuesday was no exception.
The visitors got on the board first
when Brooks teamed with Scherer
and Snyder less than three minutes
into the game. But a pair of Aylmer
goals and it was 2-1 for the Hor-

It only took Scherer 39 seconds
into the second period to tie the
game but' Aylmer went ahead 3-2.
Just a couple of minutes later
McKee scored for Exeter.
Thar was no scoring in either
the third period or in overtime.
Both Exeter goalie Rick Pikul And
