Penny Caza 92, Robert Rolloffs underway By Ron Darin ZURICH - The Sleeman Holiday Classic Ontario Five Pin Bowlers' Associauon (O.F.P.B.A.) house round rolloffs are now underway in Bluewater 5 Pin Bowlers' Associa- tion bowling centres. • Sleeman team members previous- ly qualified in the -league round in December. Each team will now bowl three games in the pins over average format. Winning house round teams will then advance to the regional rolloffs April 4 and must have a Level One O.F.P.B.A. coach. Sleeman Regional winning teams will go on to the Ontario Champi- onships May 8 in a O.F.P.B.A. des- ignated location. This is the first year for this new Sleeman Holiday Classic and is open to all O.F.P.B.A. league bowl- ers who have an established aver- age. , Black Tower team champion- ship The Black Tower Provincial Team Championship league round is now in the third week of the five week qualifying round. Teams beating their team average over the five week period ending February 14 will advarice to the house round February 28 to March 14.-- Y.B.C. four steps to stardom The Bluewater Zone Youth Bowling Council league rounds wind up this weekend with the top six girls and top six boys in the bantam, junior and senior divisions advancing to the second step Y.B.C. Bev Cregan, iepresenung Town and Country Lanes, won the ladies scratch division of the Bluewater Mid -Winter Blues tournament for Lines from the Lanes - -By Barbara Smith LUCAN - The Black Tower Five Pin Championship League Rounds started last week. These league rounds arc made up of teams. These teams compete for five weeks in a total pins over team av- erages. Then the teams advance to the House Rounds. Good luck teams. The Youth .Challenge Winter Games Regional Finals was held at Pi. Edward last Sunday. The differ- ent zones were battling it out for the top position in their category. The scores were given in points: Boys Team - First, St. Clair, 35 points; Second, London, 34 points; Girls Division - First, St. Clair, 30 1/2 peaks; Second, Windsor, 28 1/2 points: Mixed Team - First, London, 40 points; Second, St. Clair, 25 1I2 points. The Hiram Walker Special 01d National Executive Championship will be held in Kitchener -Waterloo on January 31. On Sunday, January 24 the Mid Winter Blues Regional Rounds for The Master Bowlers Association was held at Lucan Lanes. This tournament is made possible. through the generous sponsorship of the Mendes Corporation. Win ning in the mans division was Kc - vin Dbaen 61' Fleetway Bowling Centre who bowled 244 pins over his 240 average. He bad scores of 308, 300, 236, 310 and 290 for an excellent total of 1444, For the la- dies, Madeline Armstrong of Olym- pic Bowl in Dorchester won in the , scratch division with a fill; game total of 1230, and Toni Virag of Fleetway had the highest pins over average. She bowled 1129, which was 204 pins over her 185 average. These three bowlers advance to the Provincial Championship in Kitch- ener on February 13, .1993. Penny Caza 92, Robert Rolloffs underway By Ron Darin ZURICH - The Sleeman Holiday Classic Ontario Five Pin Bowlers' Associauon (O.F.P.B.A.) house round rolloffs are now underway in Bluewater 5 Pin Bowlers' Associa- tion bowling centres. • Sleeman team members previous- ly qualified in the -league round in December. Each team will now bowl three games in the pins over average format. Winning house round teams will then advance to the regional rolloffs April 4 and must have a Level One O.F.P.B.A. coach. Sleeman Regional winning teams will go on to the Ontario Champi- onships May 8 in a O.F.P.B.A. des- ignated location. This is the first year for this new Sleeman Holiday Classic and is open to all O.F.P.B.A. league bowl- ers who have an established aver- age. , Black Tower team champion- ship The Black Tower Provincial Team Championship league round is now in the third week of the five week qualifying round. These league rounds arc made up of teams. These teams compete for five weeks in a total pins over team av- erages. Then the teams advance to the House Rounds. Good luck teams. The Youth .Challenge Winter Games Regional Finals was held at Pi. Edward last Sunday. The differ- ent zones were battling it out for the top position in their category. The scores were given in points: Boys Team - First, St. Clair, 35 points; Second, London, 34 points; Girls Division - First, St. Clair, 30 1/2 peaks; Second, Windsor, 28 1/2 points: Mixed Team - First, London, 40 points; Second, St. Clair, 25 1I2 points. The Hiram Walker Special 01d National Executive Championship will be held in Kitchener -Waterloo on January 31. On Sunday, January 24 the Mid Winter Blues Regional Rounds for The Master Bowlers Association was held at Lucan Lanes. He bad scores of 308, 300, 236, 310 and 290 for an excellent total of 1444, For the la- dies, Madeline Armstrong of Olym- pic Bowl in Dorchester won in the , scratch division with a fill; game total of 1230, and Toni Virag of Fleetway had the highest pins over average. She bowled 1129, which was 204 pins over her 185 average. These three bowlers advance to the Provincial Championship in Kitch- ener on February 13, .1993.
