Eldon Johnston was the only resident to celebrate a birthday in January; therefore, he received spe- cial treatment from Helen Regie.+ who organized and was chairperson for the evening. Diane Hardy and Ann Reyburn played their guitars d sang duets and accompanied thy* children's choir made up of 10 beautiful voices. The Catholic Women's League sang "The Sea- sons of the Year" accompanied by Theresa McCann on piano. The women served sandwiches, relish- es, cookies and squares and mm- gled with: the residents after the en- tertainment. Home Auxiliary helpers were Mary Ellen Gingerich and Martha Ducharme. Father Peter Hayes, St. Boniface Church, Zurich celebrated Mass on 'Wednesday afternoon. Thursday afternoon, the residents gathered in the auditorium to col- late and stuff envelopes for the March of Dimes canvass. Jim Par- kins, Fergus Turnbull, Eileen Con - site Mae Davidson, Edna Johnston, Bill Leibold, Margaret Mousseau, Nelson Howe and Paddy Bedard managed to complete half the small task and will continue this week to finish the 1,000 envelopes. The rsesidents' activities this week ncluded sing -a -long, fu . and fit- , games night, music listening, Bible reading and reminscing and yes - good old bingo. A very special event has taken place at Queensway this week. A resident in the Retirement Home, Jessie Armstrong, celebrated her 100th birthday on Monday. Family and friends gathered at Queensway Nursing Home on Saturday to help Mrs. Annstrong celebrate this very special occasion.
