Christmas trees are
recycled in Zurich

ZURICH = Anyone wanting to
get rid of their Christmas trees can
do so by :laking them behind the
north end of the Zurich Arena be-
fore January 22. They will be
picked up for recycling.
The annual meeting of the Zurich
Agricultural (Fair Board) Society
will be ,held :at the Township Hall
on Wednesday, January 20 at 7:30
Fes.
The meeting will be followed by
a potluck lunch. Everyone is wel-
come.

Keith and Margaret Westlake
spent three weeks in Florida over
the Christmas holidays.
A birthday bowling party wagon-
joyed by Meagan Sweeney on
Thursday, January 7 after school
along with seven of her girl friends
at the Town and Country Lanes,
followed by supper and gifts and
cake at her home.
The Gelinas twins Jacqueline and
Justine, were five years old on Jan-
uary 7, daughters of Martin and
Cheryl Gelines.
The children of Marie Gelinas Sr.
(six were able to attend) along with
their spouses and husband Mozart
helped Marie to celebrate her 75th
birthday on Sunday with a surprise
dinner and get-together.
Happy birthday wishes go out to
Charlene Overholt on January 6, to
Madeline Gelinas on January 11
and to our son-in-law, M.P.P. Paul
Klopp on January 14 and to his
"twin" sister Linda Earle of Lon-
don.
Weekend visitors with Mac and
Jean Klopp were their son and
daughter-in-law Ron and Gloria
Klopp and Aaron of Keswick.
Congratulations ' to Denise and
Jim Dietrich on the arrival of their
third baby, who was born on Janu-
ary 7.
Also congratulations to Mary -
Ann and Joe Keller (nee Hendrick)
on the arrival of their first baby, a
girl, born on January 4.
Doug and June Schade and little
Katelyn of Zurich along with his
parents Jack and Nile Schade and
family of Dashwood returned home
-on the weekend after spending the
.past two weeks on vacation in Or-
lando, Florida.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Blue -1
Water Rest Home herd their meet-
ing on January 5 which began in
the auditorium with a reading and
musical entertainment by Tim
Cooper of Zurich.
Interim pastor of the Mennonite
church, Rev. Winston Martin was
on hand for the prayer service and
installation of officers. The new ex-
ecutive for the next two years are:
past president Carmel Sweeney;
president Mary -Ellen Gingerich;
vice-president Martha Ducharme;
secretary Marlene Gingerich; treas-
urer Cecelia Farwell; membership
Helen Ouerbein; Liaison Verda
Baechler; social convener Mary
Gingerich, with assistant Grace
Martin and visiting convener Gerrie
Fleischauer.
New president Mary -Ellen
Gingerich chaired the meeting and
welcomed all the members present
and one visitor.
Old business was finished by
Carmel who displayed a clock
which was purchased recently for
the auditorium and a carpet sweep-
er for the home.
She also handed out nine 25 year
award certificates which arrived
from the provincial office.
The birthday party will be held at
the home on January 19 by the Mt.
Carmel C.W.L.
The next meeting will be held on ,;

ebrated the service of Holy Com-
munion on Sunday, January 10 at
11:00 a.m. Rev. Stephen Emery for

The St. Patrick's vestry meeting
is on Tuesday, January 26 at 7:30
p.m. also at the Davis's.
Ron and Margaret Carroll and
family visited with Eileen Carroll
on Friday at the Exeter Villa who
was celebrating a birthday. Happy
birthday wishes Eileen from your
friends at St. Patrick's.
Hazel Davis called on Eileen Car-
roll, Blanche Walters and Georgina
Dobbs at the Villa Friday also
Mary Brown at South Huron Hos-
pital. Rose Cunningham also was a
visitor from St. Patrick's at the Vil-
la.
