Town administrator Rick Hundey pressed council to move forward the date of the next public works committee meeting to allow council approval of a public meeting on the plan,by the end of the month. Hundey proposed a February 9 date for the public .meeting, with the eventual goal of putting a final plan into action by mid summer. The waste reduction plan, which cotmcil gave their support to last year, arose out of a summer student study of the town's businesses and industries and the likelihood of re- ducing and recycling their garbage through a coordinated and inexpen- sive program. churcb dnNtIon Continued from front page Apparently, the friars refused to sign a document of establishment that would have made the monas- tery a legal entity in the diocese. When the friars first moved into the church it was in bad shape. There was no heat or no running water and it had been abandoned for over 10 years. The friars had originally come from Michigan and when they left in 1990, were headed to Connecti- cut. Your column in early. December mentioned Ex- eter having four championship teams in as few as six months. Possibly this was a record for -Ex- eter in sports? ' Nothing was mentioned in your column then or this past week in • review of 1992 about Exeter's Jun- ior Lawn bowlers who attended the Ontario Summer Games in Scarbo- rough. All of .Exeter's repre- sentatives that .,participated for three days in Au- gust returned home to'Exeter as Onta- .tdo.Champs. Andrea Weigand won gold in un- ►tt•ctitt der 16 girls singles. Laura 4earson and Jacklyn Wright won gold for girls pairs while Allan McFalls and Shawn McFalls won gold for boys pairs. This is quite an honour to have all of our juniors accomplish this and it deserves some coverage even though this sport is not yet a high profile one in your eyes.
