Winter returned good and hard in mid-January. There was so
much snow that some even had to shovel off flat roofs to pre-

The Usbome Beard Growing Contest came down to the judg-
ing at the Sesquicentennial homecoming weekend held in Ex-
eter in July. Here Karen Brock and Joanne Jaques make the
final decisions on, the seven-month old beards.
Grand Bend held its first air show in May, a show -that includ-
ed
ncluded the famous Snowbirds aerobatic team. Here Snowbirds
commander Bob Stephan (at right) makes a special visit with
the students -at Hensel! Public School, .the school his father
attended.
2992 marked the 25th year since the Huron Park air base
closed, and the 50th since it opened during World War ll. In
June, veterans of the base returned to •Huron Park for a reun-
ion. Here, Times Advocate editor Adrian Harte gets a bird's
eye view of the reunion by becoming part of its air show.

Shannon Wake/ g of Thorndaie was one of the Queen of the
Furrow contestants in the Middlesex Plowing Match which was
forced to relocate to near Brinsley due to - you guessed it -
wet and muddy field conditions.
The Exeter liens took to the airwaves, or at least to your

bingo. Host for the first broadcast was Tom Hartai. The Li-
ons already report great success and interest in the weekly
games.
