Christmas Question
By Angela Pickering
Stephen Central, Grade 8
1 remember that Christmas, when 1
was so small.
I wanted a wagon. some candy and
a ball.
1 wrote a letter to Santa with care.
Asking for presents, with wrap-
ping to tear.
Now 1 admit n was silly to ask.
1 used to think Santa wore a mask.
He wrote me back and said "No
way".
He said he'd show me on Christ-
mas Day'
1 waited and wafted till Christmas
Eve
And down he came wit. ha Ho and
a heave!
He filled our stockings, then
fumed to me.
He opened his sack as 1 smiled
with glee.
Out he pulled something big with
,wheels.

In a Clash of lightening, on was at
his heals.
A bright, red wagon was set by our
tree.
Something it held I couldn't sec
!t was a big. bouncing ball, full of
spring
Then all of a sudden I heard a nng.
It was the reindeer above, waiting
with pride.
As 1 heard some footsteps, 1 ran to
hide.
But before 1 could 1 was stopped b\
a hand
1 bounced right back. like a rubber
band.
For me Santa had a special surprise.
He pulled at his nose, his cheeks
and his beard.
Standing and watching 1 thougat he
was weird.
But then 1 realized what he was do-
ing.
In my head the questions was brew
He had _answered. _my .Chnsnmrs
question at last.
Then there was a shadow and we
had to move fast.
As he said "Good-byeand his last
farewell.
We ran so fast we almost fell.
1 hid behind the big. round table
And up Santa went to fly the rein-
deer to the stable.
In walked Dad as he looked about.
I couldn't wait till miming, as 1
started to pout.
Some how I yawned and fell fast
asleep. -
The presents in my mind, 1 wanted
to keep
When f woke up, 1 Lound what I had
dreamed.
It was around the sec. as It had
seemed.
My little red wagon all big. and
bright.
it was really quite an amazing sight.
So now I know Santa is real.
And I'm sure you know how I feel.
So on Christmas morning, girls and
boys.
Just remember who brought you all
of those toys.

Precious Blood Grade t3
in the house it's nice and quiet,
my mom is asleep and my Dad is
snoring in a chair. I was still in my
bed looking out the window when
i heard a strange noise and it came
from downstairs and I quickly
woke my sister. She said, "Please
go back to sleep?" But 1 heard
something downstairs so me and
my sister ran quickly down the
stairs just in time to see Santa cov-
ered in pans and pots.
-Me and my sister at the same
time said "What are you doing!
Santa said "rm looking for the
milk and cookies and 1 can't find
them" and i said "Well we're plain
out of them". Santa said "Then buy
some' I said, "the stores arc
closed. But we do have cookie mix
and cows in the barn.
So me and my sister went out to
the barn to get the milk while San-
ta baked the cookies. Then after
we carne in the house Santa was
all ready done baking. So when
Santa and me and my sister were
eating cookies and drinking milk
he gave us both presents. We put
them under the bed and went hack
to sleep.

it was the night before Christmas.
My cat was in bed. So was 1. I got
out of bed and in my livingroom 1
saw "Santa Claus". He said, "Go to
sleep. 1 don't want you to sec your
presents." So Leslie, Amanda and I
got a notebook and jotted down
stuff that Santa was doing. (At
school, the nicest teacher, Mrs.
Mills said, "Today is the end of
school. We are going to do a pro-
ject I told you about two days ago
in Quiet Writing Time. I will tell
you the kids in your group too. Les-
lie, Amanda and Alicia arc a group.
So we got going on our project
about Santa.) So we got the note-
book and put all the things down.
At 2:30 the project was done. We
were the first ones done. We got to
go to the washroom and in the
washroom we gave a high five.
When we got our project back we
got A+ and we got to go homc fat
before anybody. So when we got
home we looked at the toys Santa
got for us. We went to the bedroom
and said, "Don't tell we saw Santa
Claus!!" So Amanda, Leslie and I
did not tell that we sats Santa
Claus.
