VARNA - The Christmas Carol 1
Candlelight Service held at the
Goshen Church for both Varna and
Goshen charges was beautifully
decorated for Christmas by the
Country Charm.
Rev. George Phillips and his wife
Olive lit the Christ candle. Carols
were sung intermittently with
Scripture Readings of the Christ-
mas Story by Rev. Phillips, Joyce
Dowson, Greg Keys, Leanne Keys
and Linda Linfield.
Rev. Phillips read "Twas the
Night Before Christmas" to the
children. The choir favoured every-
one with two Christmas anthems
"Carolling On" and "The Wondrous
Word".
Before the Benediction Silent
Night was sung with the lights off
and just the candles glowing! What
a wonderful sight! Everyone en-
joyed a ume of fellowship with
birthday cake for Jesus.
Next Sunday there will be regular
services in both churches at the
usual time.
Many people in the area attended
the Christmas Concert held at Hu-
ron Centennial. The "Western Ho
Ho Ho Down" was performed by
students form Grades 3, 4 and 5.
Both junior and senior choirs also
took part. The Eule Group led the
show with a community sing -along
of Christmas carols. This concert
takes a lot of time, thought and ef-
fort each year and is very worth-
while -going to watch.
To all my readers this holiday
season, I wish you all a very -Merry
Christmas and the very best in
