Annual Centralia Christmas parade
Centralia was the start of the Christmas parade which ended in Huron Park on Sunday and it had several floats in-
cluding this one which had chipmunks getting ready for winter. At right, Greg Clarke found getting around at the pa-
rade was definitely cold but not too difficult with some help.
UCW members
entertain
CENTRALIA - A very enjoya-
ble time was had on Thursday eve-
ning when the UCW of the United
Church entertained their husbands
and -friends at a turkey supper. Fol-
lowing the meal a very humorous
skit with the golden girls acted by
UCW members as they visited an
old peoples home with about six
ladies and an older gentleman as
inmates. Christmas songs were
sung and Rev. Geddes closed the
evening with prayer.
At Heywoods Restaurant on
Monday November 30 prize win-
ners were Olive Essery, Marguer-
ite Greenlee, Bessie Caldwell,
Harry Noels. Murray Carter. Eldon

Sunday at- the united Church
was white gift Sunday with the
• Sunday School in charge of the
• service. The Advent candles were
lit by Crystal and Nina Knee. Shar-

in Somalia". The Sunday school
concert will beheld Tuesday De-
cember 22 at 7 p.m. •
A Christmas eve carol and com-
munion • service will be held at
Centralia United Church on Thurs-
day December 24 at 8 p.m. Every-
one welcome.
-The Santa Claus parade on Sun-
day seen the streets hived with
cars. Prize winners of floats were
1st, McCurdy School, Huron
Park. _2nd.. _Crediwn Social Club,
3rd, Stephen Hookey. Judges were
Linda Holcombe, Brent Caslick
and Mary Kooy.

CENTRALIA - The annual
Christmas Banquet was held on
Fnday night at the Trivia Anglican
Church where their ladies group
• served to us a delicious meal. The
•Bantseev Family from London and
Lucan provided beautiful music
.through song and their instruments
.of violins. cello. guitar and piano.
This family has been in Canada for
:only three years and recently visit -
ted their homeland Russia. The love
fof God was evident in their song,
Itestunony. and warm personalities.
Despite the stormy weather on
Saturday, the Sunday School Bus
made it into the Exeter Parade and
,the Youth Group Bake Sale was a
sell out! The bus also made its way
slrough the route of the Certtralia-
kiuron Park Parade on Sunday af-
ternoon.
Also on Saturday, the Youth
Group attended Youth For Christ
in Brucefield and once again the
, Faith Walkers participated in the
quizzing.
Only one more rehearsal left for
"Are You Ready for Christmas?"
-Everyone has worked hard this past
