Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home Da.hwood Dashwood Women's Institute holds meeting DASHWOOD - The Internation- al Affairs meeting opened with "Keeping Christmas in the schools". This was followed with the Ode and the Mary Stewart Col- lect. Reports were given by the sec- retary and the treasurer. Roll call was "Name a Children's Christmas custom in a foreign land" and was answered by 15 members and one visitor. During the business, each mem- ber received a Date Book of mem- bers' birthdays and anniversaries as well as a copy of the levels of the women's Institute Organizations. It was agreed to hold the January meeting in conjunction with the south Huron District 90th Celebra- tion on January 5, 1993 in the Dashwood Hall. Following the pro- gram they played "bunco". Win- ners were Aldene Wolfe, Maud Hoffman, Brend Sheppard and Martha Weigand. The meeting closed with the In- stitute Grace and a tasty lunch. St. Boniface School Buddies enjoy visit ZURICH - Last Tuesday morning the Grade 5 Buddies from St. Boni- face School visited their Buddy at Blue Water Rest Home for a Christ- mas celebration. The students dis- covered self awareness as they pre- sented booklets on themselves, of their past historic decade to the res- ident, along with a recent photo. The residents presented a candy cane to each student and the morn- ing was complete with carol sing- ing. Also, last Tuesday evening, an- other Christmas parry hosted by the Home Auxiliary. Carmel Sweeney, home auxiliary president chaired the evening. The fellowship Sing- ers were followed by Stephanie and Ashley Rau with piano solos. Poems were read by Alicia Rau and Ina Neeb. Santa arrived, snowless and sleighless, distributing gifts to each resident from the Auxiliary. Last, Wednesday afternoon the residents, family and friends en- joyed Afternoon Tea served piping hot by Laureen Corriveau. Rev. George Philips, Goshen United Church was in charge of Thursday afternoon Chapel Ser- vice. Father Peter Hayes, St. Boni- face Church celebrate mass. Friday afternoon Gladys Martin led the members in the auditorium to rounds of Bingo. Some lucky folk won up to four prizes. Saturday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Bill Irwin, Fred Harburn, Graham Townsend and friends visited the Rest Horne and entertained the resi- dents on fiddles, guitars and piano. Sunday evening the Young Peo- ples Choir from Brucefield/Kippen/ Goshen United Church came to the Home and sang Christmas music to the residents. New Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi EXETER - Monday, December 7, a new Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, known as Lambda Eta Chapter was installed at a ceremony at the Masonic Hall. Beta Sigma Phi is a world wide organization of women who join to- gether because of their cultural in- terests and ideals of living. These women form friendships that last a lifetime, and encompass other women throughout Canada and oth- er countries. Since the first chapter was estab- lished in 1931, the organization has grown to over 250,000 members. Exeter now has three chapters reg- istered from this area. Members of Lambda Chapter in- clude: Lynn Veri, Kathy Delbridge, Dolly Anthill, Tanya Delbridge, Mary Ryan -Allan, Kelly Boltz- mann, Sheila Markle, Ronnalee Bo- gart, Suzanne Mathers, Brenda Re- sler, Josie Christmas, and member advisor from Alpha Tau Chapter - Phyllis Johnson. Janice Brock, the President of So- rority Council in Exeter, performed the Ritual. Elaine Bogan had the honour of welcoming her daughter *wake into the Chapter. Bev. Delbridge, a member of Al- pha Tau, welcomed her daughter Tanya and daughter-in-law Kathy to Lambda Eta.
