TOWNSHIP OF MCGILLIVRAY
NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
-TUESDAY, JANUARY -5TH, 1993
,PROPOSED OFFICIAL PLAN.AMENDMENT
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town-
. ship of McGillivray will hold a public meeting on Tuesday Janu-
ary 5th, 1993 at 7:30 p.m. to consider a proposed official
plan amendment under Section 17 of the Planning Act, R.S.O.
1990.
The purpose of the proposed amendment is to enact a num-
ber of changes to the Township's Official Plan which were de-
. vetopcd during the official plan review process. Since the first
public meeting held on 7 July 1992 concerning the draft offi-
cial plan amendment, the Township has deliberated 'concern- -
ing several issues including the designation of wetlands and
related policies. Consultation has taken place with the Minis-
try of Natural Resources and with land owners effected by this
issue. As a result, it is now proposed that the two wetland
•habitats within the Township as well as one endangered spe-
cies plantation be separately designated on the Land use
schedule and policies are proposed to ensure their protection
and preservation.
As well, the Township has developed changes to the proposed
amendment related to minimum areas for farm severances.
woodland preservation, rural housing issues, etc. The pro-
posed amendment will also recognize a non -conforming use
within the Township.
The public meeting will be another opportunity for ratepayers
to express their views directly to Council either in support of
or in opposition to the proposed amendment. You may also
make written representation in this regard. The Township en-
courages all ratepayers to ettend and to make their views
known so that their input can be considered.
For complete information regarding the proposed official plan
changes, please refer to the amendment which is available for
.review in the Township Municipal Office during regular office
Tours. You may also.cXxntacisite -Township Planner, Ms. Bar-
