HENSALL - lt's beginning to
look alot like Christmas... Gar-
lands and bows and trees with
bright lights are starting to adom
'the rooms and hallways at Queens-
way. A special thanks to the auxil-
iary members who came in to help
put decorations up.
Reverend Verhoog graciously
came in last Tuesday on short no-
tice to have a church service for
the residents. Joyce Pepper was
the organist for the service.
The movie this week was "Be-
thoven". Everyone enjoyed this
show about tbei phtuted St. Ber-
nard puppy who is adopted by a
family.
Many staff attended an in-
service training session put on by
Joan Morgan, the Food Service
Supervisor. The topic was Cana-
da's New Food Guide and Healthy
gears up for Christmas
Ealing.
Thursday evening was the high-
light of the week as Sherry
McCall's Step Dancers came to en-
tertain everyone for the November
birthday party. Those celebrating
birthdays in November were Mary
Westlake, Esther Gill, Vera Park-
er, Evelyn Fletcher and Ernest
Powell. The residents enjoyed the
piano solos ,dancers and singers.
Monday evening, the Ladies'
Auxiliary met to make final ar-
rangements for the Chrisunas open
house. Following the meeting
Auxiliary Iped put up--=
more decorations throughout the
home.
Finally, a reminder to everyone
of the open house to celebrate
Christmas with the residents this
coming Sunday Decembler 6 from
2 - 4 p.m. All families, friends,
staff and volunteers are welcome
to help us start celebrating Christ-
mas.

Shuffleboard in Hensall

HENSALL - About 60 people
participated in a -shuffleboard tour-
nament held in Hensall at the Com-
munity Centre last Tuesday with
teams from Exeter, Grand Bend,
Varna and Hensall. Four games
were played and the following arc
the winners:
Exeter - Grace Farquhar 223 and
Howard Johns 211; Grand Bend -
Gloria Mousseau 199 and Clayton
Love 163; Varna - Elmer Hayter
181 and Margaret Elliot 164; Hen-
sall - Pearl McKnight 179 and Eth-
el McMurtree 159.
Sunday, December 6, Hensall's
annual tree lighting ceremony will
take place at 6:30 p.m. at the town
hall. Skating at the arena will fol-
low from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Hensall Public School's Christ-
mas concert entitled "Surfin' Santa"
will take place Wednesday, De-
cember 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the
school. Everyone is welcome.
