Judge Libby Fowler of the London Citizenship Court held a Reaffirmation Ceremony at McGil-
livray Central School lest Tuesday. She explained the importance of Canadian Citizenship,
the children all repeated the oath of allegience and received a certificate.

Crokinole club seeks members
VARNA - The Varna crokinolc
club has been organized with eight
regular members and five substi-
tutes. The ciuh would like more
members both regular and spares.
The club plans to play twice a
month at the Verna Church. Any-
one interested should contact Ivan
or Marg McCiymont.
Family fan night sponsored by
the Stanley Township Ree Com-
mittee proved successful once
again this year with many families
there. The children especially en-
joyed dancing to the music provid-
ed by the DJ. Best rap dancers
were Christine Graham and.Jason
Beierlmg, spot dance winners were
Pam Crete, Jason McBeath, Marie
Hulley, Becky Robinson, Darcy
Rothwell, Mcghan Hayter and Jet -
niter Taylor. The best at the twist
were -Amanda -Elliot.- -Mau--Anti- --
strong,
strong, Brian Glenn and Melissa
Hams. Hotdogs were served fol-
lowing the dance and finger des-
serts were enjoyed. The jolly old
fellow, Santa Claus surprised most
of the children with a visit. Treat
bags were handed out at the end of
the evening.
Sunday November 29 will be
white gift Sunday service in both
Varna and Goshen Churches.

or money in a white envelope
marked with your name or enve-
lope number.
The Young People's group
(grade 9 and up) will be caroling
at the Zurich Nursing Home on
Sunday December 6 from 7 - 8:30
p.m. Please meet at the tame by 7
p.m.
The Official Board meets Mon-
day December 7 at 8 p.m. in the
Goshen Church.
Christmas concerts in both
churches will be on December .13
at the regular time following a
light lunch of finger foods.
The Stan Lee Christmas part3,
will be held .on Wednesday De-
cember 2 in the Complex with sup-
per at 6 p.m. ,Rev Don Robinson
will be the after-dinner speaker and
Leona McBride will be bringing her
trumpet. Special. welcome to all our
members mud.any senior guests who
would like to come. There will be a
nominal charge to over the cost of
the turkey .and other expenses. Each
one is asked to bring a small "one
dollar gift". Please call Anna if you
can Come.
On Tuesday November 10 the
Stan Lee Club arranged the program
for the November birthday pan at
Huuonview. The theme was on Can-
ada's 125th. Anna Keys was the
M.C. Floyd McAsh was the xcpom-
panist for musical numbers. Taking
part in the program were Juan and
Sarah Van Slightenhurst with their
"horse' that brought lots of laughs
and a group of singers, laugh
McBride. Norenc Hayter, Joyce
Dowson, Deb Rathwell and Mona
Stephenson.
The Swinging Seniors came along
too. They got everyone clapping and
some- even dancing. Some of the
other Stan Lee members assisted the
staff members there to serve tea and
cookies.
Stan Lee Club members did some-
thing special for their November
meeting. Margaret and Ivan McCly-
mont arranged for the group to tour
the Stratford Festival Theatre. Their
tour guide John Hayes joined them
for lunch at the Old English Parlour
Restaurant. Hayes has been with the
fesuval for 36 seasons.
The theatre with seating capacity
of 2,300 is indeed breathtaking.
Their tour of back stage made one
realize what a great deal of work is
necessary to produce these plays.
Already drawings are completed for
the setting of one of next years.pro-
ductions. Costumes are designed
and manufactured as well as shoes.

A climb up many steps brought
_ them to the orchestra loft situated
above and slightly behind the stage.

CENTRALIA - The Secret Sisters hosted a craft night at which the la-
dies designed and made Christmas wreaths. Cathy Swance demonstrated
and gave many helpful tips. It was a lovely evening of many laughs and
good fellowship. The ladles Christmas Banquet has been set for Tuesday,
December 8, 7:00 p.m. at the Centralia Hall. Quest speaker will be Eunice
Delsey from London, and special music will be provided by Marlene
Thornton of Exeter. All ladies are warmly invited to this special evening.
Contact Lori Crawford at 235-2185 so adequate seating will be provided.
The Blue Bus made its way to Vanastra Swimming Pool on Friday night
as the Sunday School enjoyed a fun night of splashing, diving, jumpiag,
and a little bit of swimming. Thanks to all the adults who came as specta-
tors or venttn:+ed into the pool!
The Youth Group will be decorating a small float and the Sunday
School Bus for the Exeter Parade. They will also be selling coffee and
goodies, with all proceeds to the Building Fund.
The parts for "Are You Ready for Christmas?" have all been handed out
and practicing is underway. Mark December 13 on your calendar!
Dale and Brenda Sweitzer and their six year old son Michael will be
ministering in both morning and evening services on Sunday. The Sweit-
zers joined us earlier this year and what a blessing they were. Come and
be blessed by Dale and Brenda and by Michael as he plays those drums as
unto the Lord.

Geddes and family. Word was
received on Sunday of the death
of Rev. Geddes' father who
passed away on Sunday in To-
ronto.
At the United Church on Sun-
day, Rev. Geddes chose as his
subject "Is God Unfair".
Next Sunday, the first Sunday
in Advent the celebration of
Holy Communion will be held
