Thursday evening. The platoon had a chance to practise on a
real house, allowing them to cut holes in the roof, flooring,
and perform other emergency rescue operations that are oth-
erwise hard to simulate. The house for the practise is the
one beside the "Green Gables" plaza slated for demolition to
make way for a parking lot.

THAMES ROAD - Rev. Jim All-
sop was in charge of the regular
church service on Sunday morning.
After -Psalm 95 was read respon-
sively, the choir sang "Great and
Mighty" accompanied by the or-
ganist Erin Kraftcheck.
The congregation sang the chil-
dren's hymn "In Love to Tell The
Story" and Rev. Allsop told the
children a story about a donkey
symbolic of the Prince of Peace.
The Scripture Lesson was read
from 2 Samuel 5:1-5, Gospel of
John 12:9-19. Rev Jim's sermon
was entitled "Jesus Christ: Who Is
He?"
On Wednesday, November 25
Bible Study will be held at 7:30
p.m. Bring your bible.
Sunday, December 6 will mark
the White Gift Service at both
churches. The Sunday School chil-
dren are asked to bring non-
perishable food items wrapped in
white paper for the Christmas Bu-
reau.
Following the church service on
December 6 there will be a short
congregational meeting.
On .Monday, December 7 the
U.C.W. meeting will be held at 8
p.m. The roll call to be answered
with "A Christmas Verse". Remem-
ber - A gift (new or used) for the
Christmas Bureau" and your Scout
Pal Gift (approx. 55.00).
Tuesday, December 22 at 7 p.m.
will be the annual Thames Road
Sunday School concert.
There will be a Christmas Eve
Service at Elimville at 8 p.m. at
which Communion will be served.

November 24, -1962 - Sewen'Mluen with over 200 years ens -
bleed service were honoured at'tbe anneal appreciation banquet
staged by the town of Exeter, Wednesday.
Receiving plaques for service of more than 25 years were former
chief Irwin "Bunny" Ford, Hilton Lang, Bill Musser, Alpe "Mote"
Sanders, Ray Smith, Ernest "Hap" Wells and Ernest "Punch"
Wells.
The Exeter Lioness dub recently won the District A15 Efficiency
Award over 12 other clubs.
The Ausable Hayfield Conservation Authority approved the leas-
ing of Port Franks property which could lead to major devlopment
in the area.
John and Ola Batten are the new presidents or the Exeter Ansa -
hie Nomads.

November 23, 1967 - Exeter's representatives on the South Huron
District High School Board are Peter Raymond and Iry Arm-
strong.
Squadron Leader Jack Cann, an Usborne township native has
been aamed Deputy Director of adminstration at Royal Military
College in Kingston.
A group of 30 Koreans has arrived for a 15 month training pro-
gram at Centralia School of Agriculture and Home Economics.
Exeter council granted a tied licence to Earl Dietrich of Centralia
to take calls for Len Harvey of Exeter who is cutting back on ser-
vice.
Bob McNaughton of Kippen represented Huron county at the
36th annual conference of 4.11 dubs in Toronto.

A W. Morgan of Hensall was named president of the Huron
County Federation of Agriculture.
At Huron county council, school inspector J.H. Kinkead com-
menting on the shortage of teachers said the only solutions were
higher pay, employment of more married women or the dosing of
smaller schools.
Camp 1pperwash is officially opening on November 26. It is one
of the most Important military developments in Western Ontario
since the outbreak of the war.
Under new taxi regulations, rates will be 10 cents a mile up to
four customers. Over four passengers an extra charge will be made
according to numbers and distance.

November 24,1892 - By motion of Huron county council, a vote
will be taken at the next municipal election for or against the erec-

Mr. John Troyer sold bis Heasall restaurant business to Mr. C.
Myers on Monday. He in turn sold it to Mr. W.C. Davis the same
day. Not so slow for you, Gypsy.
The publisher of a Hensall paper was in Exeter this week solicit-
ing ads for his paper from merchants of that town. We are told he
has a very poor opinion of Hensel) merchants. It is poor policy to
belittle one advertiser in the hope of getting another.
In Crediton, Thomas Lamport and Clark (known as Wolf) had a
general smashup the other night by running into each other and
demolishing their sulkies.
