The platoon had a chance to practise on a real house, allowing them to cut holes in the roof, flooring, and perform other emergency rescue operations that are oth- erwise hard to simulate. The house for the practise is the one beside the "Green Gables" plaza slated for demolition to make way for a parking lot. Thames Road by Rhoda Rohde THAMES ROAD - Rev. Jim All- sop was in charge of the regular church service on Sunday morning. After -Psalm 95 was read respon- sively, the choir sang "Great and Mighty" accompanied by the or- ganist Erin Kraftcheck. The congregation sang the chil- dren's hymn "In Love to Tell The Story" and Rev. Allsop told the children a story about a donkey symbolic of the Prince of Peace. The Scripture Lesson was read from 2 Samuel 5:1-5, Gospel of John 12:9-19. Rev Jim's sermon was entitled "Jesus Christ: Who Is He?" On Wednesday, November 25 Bible Study will be held at 7:30 p.m. Bring your bible. Sunday, December 6 will mark the White Gift Service at both churches. The Sunday School chil- dren are asked to bring non- perishable food items wrapped in white paper for the Christmas Bu- reau. Following the church service on December 6 there will be a short congregational meeting. On .Monday, December 7 the U.C.W. meeting will be held at 8 p.m. The roll call to be answered with "A Christmas Verse".
