Zurich Optimists hold family bowling night

ZURICH - The Optimist Club is
holding their annual family bowl-
ing day at the Town and Country
Lanes Sunday, November 15 from
2-5 p.m. For more information
phone president Chris Littlechild.
St. Booifltce bazaar
The annual St Boniface CWL
Parish bazaar was a success thanks
to all the volunteers. Patti Hodgins
won the Dresden Plate Quilt, Alice
Sreenan a grocery hamper of food
while the baby quilt went to Maddy
Smith.
Harvest dance
There was a good turnout at the
Harvest Dance held at the arena
Saturday night sponsored by the St.
Boniface Knights of Columbus.
Proceeds went towards the Gordon
Erb walkway to the Blue Water
Rest Home.

Christmas bazaar and bake sale

Taking a look at a couple of birds for sale during the Zurich
CWL Bazaar on Saturday were Lauren Pennings and Katie Mei-
dinger of Zurich. The annual event was held at the St. Boni-
face Church.
There was a lot of great baked goods to
home at the CWL Bazaar in Zurich on Saturday.

Warden's banquet
The Warden's banquet was' held
at the Zurich Community Centre
Friday.
Re®entbreace Day
The community is invited to take
part in a Remembrance Day cere-
mony at the Zurich Community
Centre Wednesday, November 11
beginning at 12:30.p.m. and spon-
sored by the Diners Club.
Christmas service
St. Peter's Lutheran Church is
sponsoring a bus trip to Franken-
muth Sunday, December 13 to take
in the annual Advent Christmas
Service. If interested, call Glen
Thiel at 236-4046.
Blue Water
The ladies auxiliary held their
monthly meeting at the Rest Home
last Tuesday, chaired by president
Carmel Sweeney.
Plans for the bazaar on Novem-
ber 14 from 2-3:30 were finalized.
Helpers were also asked for the res-
idents' family Christmas dinner
Sunday, November 29.
Venda Baechler gave a report that
four ladies went to the region three r
meeting on October 23 at the Fair-
view Mennonite HOme in Cam-
bridge.
A motion was made to purchase
a microwave for the kitchen.

hold meeting
ZURICH - The banquet and an-
nual meeting of District 8, Huron
Perth, Ontario Association of Agri-
cultural Societies was hosted by
the Zurich Agricultural Society
last Tuesday. at the Zurich Com-
munity Centre.
District Director, Ron McKay,
Homecraft Representative. Barba-
ra Pinkney, and Zurich Agricultu-
ral Society President, Lloyd Ot-
terbein, welcomed representatives
from the Agricultural Societies of
District 8. A special welcome was
given to the Queens and Ambassa-
dors of area fairs.
The "In Menarium" was given
by a Kirkton Agricultural Society
member. Musical entatainment
was provided by the host society.
In the District quilt competition,
Isabel Annis of Mitchell was the
first prize winner. Hazel Corbett of
Hensall was one of the three prize
winners in the bread competition
The first place winners show their
exhibits in the competitions at the
O.A.A.S. convention in Toronto,
in February 1993.

A speedy recovery is wished for
Connie Risi, a patient in Victoria
Hospital, London.

Olivia Bedard spent the weekend
at the home of her daughter, Mar-
tha and Willie Overholt and took
in activities at St. Boniface.
Maria Mathortia spent the past
two weeks near Ottawa visiting her
daughter Mary -Ann and Dan McIv-
er and attended the baptism of
grandson Nathaniel. Maria re-
turned home Friday along with the
McIver family who are spending
time visiting.
Ivan and Marjorie Meidinger
along with Ken and Linda Genttner
and son Todd and Cyrille and Anne
Hartman spent four days in the U.S.
visiting relatives.
Craig and Jackie Ctausius and
their sons spent the weekend in To-
ronto visiting his dad, Wayne Clau-
sius.
Mary Romaniszyn of Blue Water
spent a few days in London visiting
her sister Joanne and Bill Meurer.
Viola Ramer spent a few days
visiting her daughter in London
while husband Sidney was away.
Therese Stark spent last week in
Windsor at the home of her son
Dave and Carolyn Stark helping
with the grand opening of Dave's
new store.
