Friday, October 23, the Secret Sisters hosted a game of volleyball at the Exeter Public School. Four teams enjoyed "action packed" round-robin games. Refreshments at Doug and Cathy Prout's home led into (for some) another "action packed" game of hockey! Saturday night the Youth Group met at Jamie Parker's home and ventured to the bush via three- wheelers to play "Capture the Flag". A wiener roast warmed eve- ryone up and brought another fun Youth event to a close. Sunday evening, the Exeter Youth Centre was transformed into a beautiful star -lit evening for the Stewardship Campaign "In Faith We Grow" Dessert Banquet. The theme of the evening was "Oil:- Church, OurChurch, Yesterday, Today and To- morrow". While the adults enjoyed numerous exquisite desserts, the children also had their own deli- cious party. Games, songs, puppets, movies and pounds of balloons filled the night with excitement and fun. Wednesday, October 28, the Sun- day School gathered at the Central- ia Hall for a Bible Costume Party. Winners of the best Bible charac- ters were: Kindergarten and under; Jeannette MacVicar, Lindsay and Vicky Stubbs, Jonah Henderson. Grade 1, 2, 3,; Melissa Simpson, April Wood, Cassandra MacVicar; Grade 4, 5, 6; Becky Hunt, Crystal Russell, Tony Wood; Grade 7 and up; Chris Parker, Marcy Swance, Rosemarie Westlake. The Youth Group provided a great puppet play "The Prodigal Son" which kept all eyes focused on the excellent scenery and lively puppets. Four teams were made and relay games were played. Snowball relay used marshmallow and spoons; clothespin relay gave each team 60 pins to put on four teach- ers; Good Samaritan relay gave each team the opportunity to be just that, as they put bandaids on four more teachers. Rice krispie treats and pop with an apple finished up the evening. The Pre -Teen club met on Satur- day morning at Roger and Cathy Swance's home to play a game of Survival in their bush. This club is Centralia by Mary Kooy CEN't'RALIA - We are sorry to report that Bernard Rimmer is a pa- tient in University Hospital, Lon- don following surgery. Also Roger Forrest is a patient in St. Joseph's hospital, London, following a heart attack. We wish them a speedy re- covery. A good crowd gathered at the community centre on Saturday eve- ning to celebrate Hallowe'en spon- sored by the town fathers. Prizc winners were Sarah Tilley, Melissa Snell, Jeff VanBergan, Bryan Knee, Kelli Cronyn, Mathew Fo- ran, Joel Veri, Sarah Walker, Jas- mine Bender, Jonathan Kilmer. Judges were Ron and Linda Hol- combe. Hot dogs, pop, coffee and tea were served by the Cronyn fam- ily. Mary Walker, Jeanette and Sarah entertained 24 girls on Monday evening at a Hallowe'en party. At the United Church on Sunday, Rev. Geddes chose as his topic "Saints in Chaos". The Centralia U.C.W. will meet on Thursday, No- vember 5 at 8 p.m. in the church. Rev. Geddes will give an illustrated talk on the Bluewater Youth Cen- tre. Everyone welcome. The church members will spon- sor a turkey supper on Saturday, November 14 at 6 p.m. There will only be one. sitting so get tickets early from Bob Blair, Rob Essery or Brent Caslick. On Refugee Sunday. November 8 the children of the Sunday school will be sending mto refu- gee camps in Mexi Interested adults are encouraged to join them in this endeavour. More than 50 youngsters from the Crediton area enjoyed a com- munity Halloween party Saturday night at the Stephen township com- munity hall sponsored by the Credi- ton Optimists. The Credlt on Optimist Club sponsored a very successful Hallowe'en party at the Stephen township community hall Saturday night.
