new street
LUCAN - It was neighbourhood
appreciation time m the village Sat-
urday night.
Residents of Langford Drive and
Fairview Crescent gathered at the
home of Barry and Diane Gollan to
celebrate the completion of con-
struction on their two streets.
Gollan said the party was to say
thanks to the village for the com-
pletion
ompletion of paving, curbs, gutters,
sidewalks and sewers.
He added, "Council has actually
done us a favour with the excellent
upgrading of our streets. This has
really added to the value of our
homes."
A tent was pitched in the Gollan's
back yard to accommodate an area
for entertainment and food.
Clown Alex from Granton was a
hit with the youngsters as he paint-
ed faces, created balloon animals
and pulled off some magic tricks.
Music was provided by The Gui-
riers, a rock group from London in-
cluding Gregg Cairns, Alan Man -
gen, Henry Brkic, Andrew Dunt
and Patrick McLaughlin. The group
plays at London and area night
clubs and pubs.
The village was represented by
reeve Tom McLaughlin and his
wife Mary -Ann and works depart-
ment staffer John Riddell.

Holy Communion at Saintsbury
SAINTSBURY - St. Patrick's
Holy Communion Service was
held at 11 a.m. Sunday. Rev. Ste-
phen Emery spoke to the children
about "Humility" and its meaning,
both classes .1 Sunday School
studied what it means to"Walk
humbly with our God."
A time of fellowship followed
when the Sunday School children
served coffee, juice and goodies

Lucan hosts special series
LUCAN - Do you have lots of

Lucan Living Word Congrega-
tional Church will host a special se-
ries of services this coming week-
end. There will be evening services
on Friday, October 23 and Satur-
day, October 24 at 7 p.m. These
meetings will be held in the Lower
Hall at Lucan Christian Revival
Centre, just off Main Street in Lu -
can.
The theme is "Just a Closer
Walk" and will feature Pastor Ar-
chie Robertson as theme speaker.
Archie is well known in the Sea -
forth area as a former pastor at
Bethel Bible Church. He is also son
of Jim and Flora Robertson, Lucan.
Archie will share how to have a
closer walk with the Lord and how
to live that walk. He will draw on
his own personal experiences and
illness in his family which has
helped him walk closer with the
Lord.
The public is invited to
hear Pas-
tor Archie Robertson. Babysitting
is provided. If you desire that Clos-
