Craft sale and tea room in Zurich By Carmel Sweeney ZURICH - The Zurich Mennon- ite Church is having an internation- al handicraft sale and tea room Sat- urday, October 17 from 1-4 p.m. All proceeds go to the Mennonite Central Committee. Admission is free and all are welcome. Mission work On Sunday evening, a special program was held at the Mennonite Church. Dave and Deb Rodgers showed a video and talked about their mission work in New.Guinea. Lions The Lions club held their meet- ing at the Dominion Tavern with president Dave Heinrich as chair. New Store The grand opening of Occasions Your Flower Shop was held in Grand Bend Friday. The store is being managed by Jeff and Donna Dawe of Zurich. Personals Blanche Bechard of Maple Wood Apartments held her annual family diner at the Dashwood Community Centre last Saturday, catered by Dorothy Rader. They also cele- brated a birthday for granddaughter Suzanne. The family of Gerald and Ursula Regier got together Saturday for a pre-Chrisunas dinner. Mozart and Marie Gelinas Sr. at- tended the wedding of great niece Molly Kraehn in Kitchener Satur- day. Amy Colleen Schilbe, daughter of Wayne and Jody was baptized at St Peter's Lutheran Church on Sunday by Pastor Stephen Alles. Abe and Connie Demooy re- turned home after spending a month vacation in Holland visiting relatives. Jeanne Bedard and grandchildren Jeff and Chris Sway and Bob spent the weekend visiting her daughter Carmel and Jerome Sweeney. Jerome Sweeney has returned from a trip to Ireland. While there he attended a three-day Irish wed- ding and visited the Shrine of Our Lady of Knock. Tracey Fisher and Richard Lather were married Saturday. World Wide Communion Sunday By Rhoda Rohde THAMES ROAD - Rev. Jim All- sop was in charge of the World Wide Communion Sunday church service on Sunday morning. The choir sang "Come and Dine" accompanied by the organist Erin Kraftcheck. They repeated the New Creed of the United Church and followed the communion service in the Green Service Book. Exchange students bid fond farewell DASHWOOD - A group of area youths were treated to the experi- ence of a lifetime this fall, as they had a chance to participate in the Voyageur '92 program. Bight Huron County secondary school students had the pleasure of making the trek to Red Water, Al- berta as part of the exchange pro- gram. Departing September 9, the group was in Alberta until Septem- ber 16. On September 28, they began the second leg of their exchange by hosting nine students from Red Water. They spent much of their time travelling to various points of interest in the province, and espe- cially in the county. The group wrapped things up Sunday with a beef barbecue held at the home of Mike Hartman near Dashwood. The pupils bid a fond farewell as the Red Water students embarked on their journey home Monday. The exchange is part of Canada's 125th birthday celebration, intro- duced by the federal government in conjunction with Air Canada. Saintsbury by H.
