Craft sale and tea room in Zurich

ZURICH - The Zurich Mennon-
ite Church is having an internation-
al handicraft sale and tea room Sat-
urday, October 17 from 1-4 p.m.
All proceeds go to the Mennonite
Central Committee. Admission is
free and all are welcome.
Mission work
On Sunday evening, a special
program was held at the Mennonite
Church. Dave and Deb Rodgers
showed a video and talked about
their mission work in New.Guinea.
Lions
The Lions club held their meet-
ing at the Dominion Tavern with
president Dave Heinrich as chair.
Guest speaker waschairman of
zone 37 west, Lion was.
Robertson
of Woodstock.
The Lions arc invited to a twin
night in Bayfield, September 22.
The next meeting will be Monday,
October 19 with OPP constable
George Finch as speaker. A remin-
der that dues are due.
Figure skating
The figure skating club has
kicked off a fundraising project
They will be selling almonds at $2
a box to raise -money for special
events.

World Wide Communion Sunday

THAMES ROAD - Rev. Jim All-
sop was in charge of the World
Wide Communion Sunday church
service on Sunday morning.
The choir sang "Come and Dine"
accompanied by the organist Erin
Kraftcheck. They repeated the New
Creed of the United Church and
followed the communion service in
the Green Service Book.

both churches, Elimville at 10 a.m.

Exchange
students bid
fond farewell
DASHWOOD - A group of area
youths were treated to the experi-
ence of a lifetime this fall, as they
had a chance to participate in the
Voyageur '92 program.
Bight Huron County secondary
school students had the pleasure of
making the trek to Red Water, Al-
berta as part of the exchange pro-
gram. Departing September 9, the
group was in Alberta until Septem-
ber 16.
On September 28, they began the
second leg of their exchange by
hosting nine students from Red
Water. They spent much of their
time travelling to various points of
interest in the province, and espe-
cially in the county.
The group wrapped things up
Sunday with a beef barbecue held
at the home of Mike Hartman near
Dashwood. The pupils bid a fond
farewell as the Red Water students
embarked on their journey home
Monday.
The exchange is part of Canada's
125th birthday celebration, intro-
duced by the federal government in
conjunction with Air Canada.

October 4. St. Paul's Kirkton cele-
brated their Harvest Thanksgiving
service.
Sunday, October 11, Si.. Patrick's
will celebrate the Holy Communion
service at 11:00 a.m.
The readings are to be Micah 1:2,
2:1-10, 2 Timothy 2:8-15, Respon-
sive reading Psalm 26, The Holy
Gospel Luke 17:11-19.
A date for the October ACW
meeting will be set at the Sunday
service. Nadene Bedell and Mary
Jefferies are to be program leaders.

Si Patrick's have received their
invitation to the fall deanery meet-
