Dianne McGregor Exeter "I think it is fantastic. It's about time women got to that point in hockey" Rob Funston Huron Park "I don't agree with it. Phil Esposito has admitted that he is only doing it for the pub- licity. The other guys on the team are going to treat her differently than a male goal- ie. She does have talent but it's not up to NHL stan- dards." Mary MacDonald Huron Park "She was certainly capable to play goal. In nine shots. she let in two and then they put the male goalie in net and he let in four. So what is the difference? They both have the same protection so she can certainly take the shots. I think it is way past time that they allow women to show their abilities." I think she has to be on a certain level to be there and as time goes on, more women will be on that "level." Ladies' hock- ey has been really successful in this arta and if she deliver the goaltending ability, they should give her the chance." In last week's Exeter Times "Back in Time" column, it was noted that 25 yeah ago the spa- cious Biddulph township park at Granton was officially opened by the Minister of Agriculture, the Honourable William a. Stewart. Asmany reflect on the many - happy times held there and °spe- cially the recent Canada 125 cele- bration, they also ponder the changes that have taken place since 1967, Canada's Centennial year, when the park was opened. It is ironic to think that in a few shon weeks a vote will be taken in this very park to help decide if Canada will continue as one of the worlds leading nations. The Anglican Bible Study group met at the rectory in Kirkton last Wednesday afternoon when the topic of discussion was loneliness. On Sunday, there was no service at Si. Thomas' Anglican•Church as members attended the Harvest Thanksgiving service at St. Pet - ricks, Saintsbury. The Reverend Stephen Emery based his message on "Where your treasure is there will your heart he also." The Granton Uhited Church sponsored a breakfast at the park. on Sunday morning rm 8 - 9:SOi The regular church rvicc fol- lowed at ten when esley UC members joined in. Pastor Normalic Voak ' sermon reflections were about " Chris- tian and Murphy's Law". choir sang the anthem "Sitting at the Feet of )esus."
