The senior Panthers went through the round-robin undefeat- ed as they beat St. Marys, London Centrai and Dorchester in two straight. South Huron then went against London Central in the champion- ttttip where Central won the first game 15-11 before the Panthers could come back to win the sec- ond one 15-12. In a hard fought third and decid- ing game, the Panthers came up short 15-11. Middle hitter Keith Crawford played well as did hitter Dan Mar- tens and sewer Jeff Lingard. s The juniors and seniors will host a regular season tournament on Thursday beginning at 2 p.m. which will include Wingham's Madhill and Central Huron from Clinton. Coolman is first at meet WINGHAM - Mike Coolman finished fust in the midget boys divi- sion at a cross-country meet hosted by W Ingham s Madill on Thursday Scott McDonald was 15th in the same group while Bryce Hahn. Eric Hundey, Jeff DeBloeck, Steve Straw and Mike Schmidt rounded out the South Huron midget team. In the junior girls group, Molly McClure was third, Sarah Battersby ninth and Jana Webster finished 15th. Rob Miller was the top junior boys finisher as he was 18th followed by teammate RJ Milne. Dan Vanderlaan was second in the senior boys division. Junior girls start season with a pair of victories PARKHILL - The South Huron junior girls basketball team got the season rolling in a good way on Saturday as they participated in the Nath Middlesex Marauder Tournament. The Panthers dropped their first game, a close 33-31 decision to the host team as they had trouble putting the ball in the hoop the fi- nal half minute despite a lot of shots. In their second game South Hu- ron beat St. Thomas Parkside 50- 31 and then defeated Seaforth 45- 27 to finish third. Members of this year's junior girLs' team are Tou Chansamone.
