EXETER - This week (Septem-
ber 21-26) is Legion Week across
Canada, and most branches are
planning activities for their com-
munities. The Exeter Legion is no
exception to this, please sec last
week's ad and this week's ad in the
Times Advocate.
The R.E. Pooley Branch 167 has
provided assistance to many varied
interest groups and/or activities in
the area. Since last September to
present, the Legion has made dona-
tions totalling over $66,0(X) to-
wards these.
Some examples of these dona-
tions arc: 1. Community betterment
and charities $26,300; 2. Youth
sports and activities 515,306; 3.
Seniors groups $11,000; Huron
Middlesex Army Cadet Corp.
58,689; 5. VON Palliative Care
53,000; 6. Education scholarships

Some highlights of the past year
were the assisting with the CFB
Centralia Reunion in June, the
125th Canada Day celebrations and
recently the second annual Chili
Cookoff last weekend.
