Women of the Hansell Presbyterian Chinch show their strong community support by lending a
hand to bingo at Queensway Nursing Home in Hensal!. The group spends every Monday dur-
ing the months of September and April at the home providing assistance to the residents.

through Monday moaning exercis-
es, determined to work out rather
than rust out.
Last- Tuesday's church service
was led by Rev. Phillips of Varna -
Goshen United Churches with
Floyd McAsh as pianist.
The video "American Naturalist"
drew a good cmwd on Thursday.
Such informative as well as enter-
taining films are always popular.
The highlight of the week was
the Thursday evening trip to Blue -
water Rest Home where residents
danced to the music of "Max Du-
charme and His Townliners. "Eve-
ryone had a wonderful evening of
visiting, music and refreshments.

Church on Sunday Rev. Geddes
conducted the service. The sermon
"The Trouble with the Older Broth-
er" was given by Rev. Peggy
Geddes.
Choir practice will be held on
Thursday evening at 7 p.m.
Brent and Jean Caslick, Gregory
and Dan arrived home last week af-
ter spending three weeks in West-
ern Canada.
Jean Clark of Dunnville spent the
weekend with Mary Kooy. On Sat-
urday we attended the McCormick -
MacDonald wedding at Holy Tnn-
uy Anglican church. Lucan and re-
ception at Oakwood Inn. Grand
Bend. On Sunday we were guests
of Helen MacDonald. Lucan to din-
ner at 3As restaurant, Exeter.
On Labour Day, the euchre at
Heywoods Restaurant saw a full
house with prizes going to Ruby
Beavers, Winnie Eagleson, Alwin-
na Galloway, Mary Kooy, Murray
Carter and Charlotte Barker. Next

sop was in charge of the regular
church service on Sunday morning.
Jackie Morgan led in the Call to
Worship and the Rayer of Ap-
proach.
Lon Kenrick led in A Prayer
Confessing Our Sin.
Rev. Allsop was in charge of
Passing The Peace with everyone
taking pan. Robyn Etherington led
in the Responsive Reading Psalm
77:11-20.
UCW evening
unit meets
EXETER - The evening unit of
Exeter United Church met Septem-
ber 7 with unit leader Grace Drum-
mond presiding. She conducted a
hnet memorial service for member
(race Elsie, who passed away last
week.
t)urtng the business, roll call was
answered by 25 ladies with "a sum-
mer memory".
The South Huron Regional will
he held at Thames Road Church,
September 15 and the Fall Rally
will be in Lambton United Church,
Forest, on October 5. Donna Paynt-
er reminded everyone to get busy
and prepare articles for our upcom-
ing Bazaar on November 14.
Bev Prout's group conducted the
devotion period with several read-
ings on travel and vacations. Melva
Ecker told of her "dream vacation"
to Galapagos Islands and Prout
gave an interesting account of her
tamily's camping trip -to the East
coast. The meeting closed with Bet-
te Clarke's group serving lunch.

both congregations is asked to

and Rhoda Rohde went for supper
Thursday evening and then to a
show to celebrate their wedding an-
niversaries. The Hodgerts were 38
years and the Rohdes 44 years both
