NEW HAMBURG - The Exeter
Royals bantam boys fastball team
finished their season on a disap-
pointing note as they dropped the
fifth and deciding game of the
WOAA semi-finals to New Ham-
burg.
A 13-4 decision saw the hosts gel
a little revenge as the Royals beat
them to win the recent provincial
title.
A combination of injuries to
shortstop Sean McCann and first
baseman Ken Hines, plus a tough
schedule of 12 games in 17 days
took its toll.
For the Royals who finished the
season with an excellent overall 36-
12-2 record, coaches Fred Cook

The NDP is about to
teach us all a lesson
The NDP Government's proposed labor law
could shut down public services we now
take for granted
Under the new law, public services such as children's aid societies) schools, public utilities
and social welfare offices could be seriously disrupted. Some could be closed.
Volunteers, and all but a few staff members, will be prohibited from helping out if a strike
occurs and public services are jeopardized.
Our school boards, for example, have as many as 17 separate bargaining units. If one of
these groups goes on strike, schools could close.
A strike by bus drivers could close, rural schools indefinitely, as could heating plant
personnel in all our boards.
Ontario residents shouldn't have to lose their right to essential services.
