Higher starts in both single - detached and multiple housing units were reported in urban areas. Single -detached units rose four percent to 74,000 units SAAR, while multiple starts reached 79,000, an increase of five percent. "The increases in July mainly re- flected greater construction of so- cial housing in Ontario. However, starts of single detached houses in a number of provinces continue to improve•slowly," said Rita Daniel, Director of CMHC's Market Anal- ysis Centre. Starts in Ontario jumped 35 per- cent to 58,000 units from 43,000 units SAAR in June. Private sector starts remained stable, while social housing expended dramatically. Quebec starts declined by 24 per - cern to 29,000 units from 38,000 units SAAR last month. Construc- tion of singles, rental units and con- dominiums all saw a decreases in July due to an over supply of hous- ing and a weak economy. 4414))111111111111111111StopOMNI pers Stolen boat Motors Between July 31, 1992 and August 17, 1992 approximately 30 (thir- ty) boat motors were stolen off of boats between Tobermory and Pt.
