Bryan III, "What do these words have in common? hijack, canopy, stupid, crabcake, first, calmness, afghan?" • What English word keeps its original pronunciation even when the last four letters arc dropped? • What state name contains only the vowel 'e', and which one only the vowel 'i'? • What do these say? SA? NME? XLNC? • From "Crazy English", by Richard Lederer, "Which com- mon English word continues five personal pronouns?" There are no word games in this recipe. It is very straight forward.
