driver responsible for striking a ve-
hicle at Windyhills subdivision in
Hay Township, during the early
hours of Sunday morning.
Police are looking for a small ve-

ron County Road 4, near Conces-
sion 4-5 of Stephen Township.
There were no injuries. Damage to
the Skinner vehicle was moderate,
while the Dalrymple vehicle re-
ceived severe damage.
During the past week four charg-
es of impaired driving were laid as
well as one charge of refusing a
breath sample. Five 12 -hour sus-
pensions were handed out while
charges of resisting arrest, being
drunk in a public place and numer-
ous Highway Traffic Act and Corn-
pulsory Auto Insurance charges
were also investigated.

VARNA - A very successful Dai-
ly Vacation Bible School was held
once again in Brumfield for Bruce-
field-Kippen, Varna -Goshen areas.
The total number of children regis-
tered was 75 with six classes in all.
The teacher for the pre-school class
was Anita ('Doper with helpers
Dana Cooper, Shirley Hargraves,
and Gayle Pepper, Kindergarten
teacher was Linda Keys with (dreg
Keys assisting, (irade 1 and 2 was
Carol Finlay with assistant Joan
Beierling, (trades 3 and 4 was Joe
Laurie with assistant Mark Cooper,
Grade 5 and 6 was Rev. Don Rob-
inson with assistants Peggy Keys
and Jenny Robinson and Grade 7
and t; was taught by Res . George
Phillips. The support staff consisted
of co-ordinator Res . Don Robin-
son, registrar -treasurer Rrenda

ladies of the Brucefiield. Kippen.

refreshments each day. Without all
this help Bible School would not he
possible. This is a big week for eve-
ryone involved and ver worth-
while.
The offering the children bmught
in each day went to the Children's
Aid in Huron County and will he
used for Christmas gifts this year.
Wilfred Chuter hosted a family
gathering down at the fame last
Sunday with 42 members of his
family present including all 15 et
his great-grandchildren.
The Stanley Bantam Boys had
their end of the season hall tourna-
ment on Saturday and took the A
Championship Their coaches were
Ken McCowan and Rick Burdge.
The Pee Wee Girls coached by
Doug and Joanne Reid won the B
Championship. Other tournaments
were held over the weekend in vari-
ous places with a lot of good hall
being played. Congratulations to all
players on another season of hall.
Sunday, August 30 Church will
he held in Goshen and Sunday,
September 6 services will be in
Varna. Sunday , September 13 ser-
vices will resume as usual in both
churches.

For those wanting to beat the heat Saturday, the Kirkton
pool hosted a water volleyball tournament. Several teams
competed from Exeter, Lucan, Clinton and Kirkton-Woodham.
Here in the final match, Aaron Gardiner of the Kirkton-
Woodham 11 makes a great diving bump at the net while team
mate Peg Malone looks on. Gardiners team defeated the
Community Bible Church team from Clinton in the third game
of a best -of -three final by a score of 17-15. Lucan defeated
Kirkton-Woodham l,for the consolation.
