Annual Shipka community picnic enjoyable event
SHIPKA - The annual Shipka
Community picnic was held last
Tuesday evening with about 35 in
attendance

ding of Caroline Elizabeth.

Conlin, and Ross Earl. son of
Earl and Kathryn Keller. The
ceremony took place on Sat-
urday, July 11. 1992 with Fa-
ther Joe Bagatto officiating.
Maid of honour was Karen
Buchanan and bridesmaids
were Kathy Keller. Diane Tum-
er and Susan Town. Flowergiri
was l(atie McKeever and ring
bearer was Brian Morley. The
best man was Joey Keller
and the ushers were Mike
Conlin, Jerry Lampor ane
Warren Keller. A reception
was held at the Lucan Com-
munity Centre. The couple
spent their honeymoon in An-
tigua, West Indies. The
couple are now residing in
Guelph.

Karla and Sean were united
in marriage August 15, 1992
in Emmanua! Baptist Church,
Exeter. Rev. Kevin Rutledge
officiated. Karla is the daugh-
ter of Dr. end Mrs.'Gayleii Jo-
sephson of Exeter and Sean
is the son of Stewart McGre
gor, Huron Park and Helen
McGregor, Exeter. The maid
of honour was Dr. Debbie Jo-
sephson. Exeter. Brides-
maids were Dana Latham,
London and Sheila Carpen-
ter, Midland. The best man
was Ewan McGregor, Huron
Park and ushers were Mike
McCarney, Aurora and David
Josephson. Exeter. Alecia
Drummond, Exeter was flow-
ergirl. After a reception at
Huron Hall, Centralia Col-
lege. the couple honey-
mooned in St. Kitt's and now
reside at Guelph, Ontario.

Pickering.
All enjoyed barbecued hot dogs
with pies fordeasen.
Anniversary
Harold acid Lucille Vincent,
were. honoured on the occasion of
their 23111 wedding atrniversary,
with a surprise barbecue slipper, at
their home, arranged by their chil-
dren. Lon, Michael- and Michelle
last Saturday. About 35 relatives,
neighbours and friends attended,
coming from Florida, Michigan,
Zurich, Crediton, Grand Rend, Ex-
eter with severs from Shipka area.
After supper the couple received
end opened a shower of gifts and
card.

cent. son of Harold Lucille, who
was married Friday, August 14 to
Tabernacle news
CENTRALIA - The second eve-
ning of soccer baseball started out
dry, but ended with most everyone
having a shower! The hotdogs and
pop may have gotten a little wet,
but a beautiful rainbow made a
wonderful ending to the evening.
The Youth Group met at the
Morrison Dam on Saturday after-
noon tor a game of "Hide and
Seer' on the trails. Pizza was on
the menu for supper and then the
Bible game was played.
A reminder to all those going to
the. London Tigers Baseball game
on Friday night, to meet at the
church to ride the bus which will
leave at 6:00 sharp

riage August 8th. Welcome home

CENTRALIA - Members of the
United Church gathered on Sun-
day at Zion West United Church
tor a mint service to welcome the
new minister Rev. Clare Geddes to
the congregations. Service was fol-
lowed by fellowship and lunch.
When the crowd gathered at
Heywood s Restaurant tor euchre
on August 10 prizes went -to Win-
nie Eagleson. Marjorie Steeper, le -
leen Pullman, Murray Carter, Gor-
don Eaton and Lila Smith (playing
mans card). Next gathering will
be -August 24 at 2:30 p.m.

Personals
Hugh and Annie Morenr had a
visit from grandchildren Persepho- •
ne and Christian, for 10 days this
month. They arrived August 3,
with their mom and dad, John and
Lynda Little, from Cognitlam,
B.C. Son Bill of London spent
most cif this holiday time with the
couple as well.
The Morenz's had not seen the
grandchildren in neatly two years.
Some of the highlights of their
holiday, besides fans activities,
was a visit to the Science ('entre
and Ontario Phu*, in Toronto, get-
dng to see two plays at Slntfbrd,
Romeo and Juliet and Wiley Val-
entine.
