The Grand Bend Nursery School held a yard and bake sale
Saturday morning at the Grand Bend United Church where
they hold their classes. The sale nearly got cancelled due to
the rainy weather, but organizers say they were glad they
didn't, because as everything dried up crowds of people
dropped by to boost sales.

SHIPKA - More than 25 attend-
ed an annual Morenz family picnic
last Sunday at the home of Ernest
and Ann Morenz, at Camp 1pper-
wtash. Relatives attended from
London, Hensall and Staffa. Flow
this area were Don and Elizabeth
Adams, Hugh and Annie Morenz.
The afternoon was spent with table
games, visiting around a campfire,
and several of the young folks
went swimming.
Personals
Melvin and Gertic Stade re-
turned home last week after a
three-week holiday at the West
Coast. Stopping first in Calgary
they visited Clarence and Eleanor
Miller a few days. The two cou-
ples motored through the Rockies
to Surrey B.C. and then attended
the 50th wedding anniversary of
Harry and Margaret Klein, of New
Westminster. Margaret is Genie's
. sister.
On a side trip they went by ferry
to Victoria to see Butchard Gar-
dens. Their last stop was a visit
with John and Helen Hopkins at
Richmond, and from here they vis-
ited Queen Elizabeth Park and
Stanley Park.
Howard Dell, nephew of Hugh
and Annie Morenz is again playing
football for the Ottawa Rough Rid-
ers team. After the football season
ended in 1991, Dell began teach-
ing and coaching at the University
of Victoria in B.C.

Kydd reunion
enjoyed in
Brucefield
BRUCEFIELD - The fourth tri-
ennial Kydd reunion was held Sun-
day, August 2 at Huron Centennial
School at Brucefield. While the
children played in the scho6lyard,
the adults visited, signed the fami-
ly tree and became re -acquainted
in the gym. All were entertained
musically by Bob Heywood and
Bill Dougall.
Margaret Dodson and Donna
Shorten of Regina, great grand
daughters of Jonathan Kydd fa-
voured with a vocal duet.
Following a pot -luck cold buffet,
it was decided that the next reun-
ion will be in Regina in 1995.
Cousins attended from Regina,
Weyburn, Winnipeg, Philadelphia,
Minden, Peterborough, Oshawa,
Mississauga, Burlington, Kitchen-
er, Walkerton, London, Exeter and
Kippen.
