Greys beaten by St. Pauls,
league record now 8-3
ST. PAULS - Despite taking a
quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first
inning here Monday night, the Ex-
eter Greys came up shon 14-5 to
St. Pauls Chiefs.
The loss was just the third of the
season for the Greys in the South
Perth Ladies Fastball League.
Exeter tried to make a comeback
in the sixth inning when Carla
Woolfcamp got on base, Brenda
Bell singled and Kelly Warren dou-
bled. They scored three runs in the
sixth and left two stranded.
Greys 10, Sebringvilk 2
A Sandi Fremlin triple and a
Dianne Willis highlighted a five
run fifth inning Tuesday night as
the host Exeter Greys beat Sebring-
ville 10-2.
The game which was postponed
from June 9, saw the Greys pick up
their eighth win of the South Penh
Ladies Fastball League schedule,
compared with just two losses.
Sebringillve led this onc, 2-0 af-
ter a couple of innings but Exeter
plated five in the third frame off of
four hits and three errors.
No -names looking
for team identity
CREDITON - The no -names are looking for a name.
Formerly known as the Crediton Cowgirls (a name they haven't used in
a couple of years), the South Perth Ladies Fastball League team is looking
for a team name.
The new identity of the club will be determined by way of a contest. A
winner will be selected by the team and announced during the league final
tournament on Saturday, August 22 in Crediton.
Entrants in the contest can send team suggestions to the Times -
Advocate. Address them to Fred Groves, 424 Main Street, Exeter, NOM
1S6. The winner will receive a cash prize of $25.
In other fastball news, Crediton will be the site of a pitching clinic on
August 22. Further details will be made available in future issues.
