Threshing demonstration e are very happy to add to our sesqui- centennial celebrations an old time demonstration of cutting wheat and .stooking a week before July 25th. We are using Lome Bal- lantyne's 1948 M John Deere tractor on - Claire Deicherts In- ternational 7' Binder. Lome will be the tractor driver and Don Bray will run the binder. We ane hoping this will take place just north of Morrison Dam on Charles Kemick's farm on Conces- sion 3 Usborne. Lloyd Fer- guson; Charles Kenrick and Glenn Jeffrey will help stook the wheat. Anyone wanting to help bring your pitch fork along that day. Wayne Hem's 1959 530 John Deere tractor is pull- ing a Toad of sheaves in the parade. The other load, Bob O'Neil's team of horses, is being driven by Elston Lynn. Both these loads of wheat will be threshed after the parade at the horse ring at the 'Exeter fair- grounds on July -25. We are using Claire Deicherts Bell 28" cylinder threshing ma- chine and his J4 interna- tional tractor to drive the machine. Phil Johns, Gordon Ford, Jack Blair and Clarence Thompson will help feed the machine that day. If anyone wants more in- formation contact Murray Dawson 235-0907. Hope the weather per- mits the wheat to be ready in July. Come out and sec our demonstration Thanks again Murray Dawson Where's the Beef At South Huron Rec Centre, that's where! To help celebrate Usborne's 150 anniversary the Home Coming Committee is orga- nizing a Beef Barbecue. They will be purchasing 1200 lbs, of becf from Veals Meat Market and Abattoir. Cooking will be left to the art of Cardiff Barbecue Catering. This event is by advance tickets only. Tickets maybe purchased from committee members, Veals Meat Mar- ket, MTS Farm Supply in Exeter and Woodham, and Wuerth's Shoes in Exeter until July 18. The cost of the tickets is S9 for adults and S4 for kids. The com- mittee is hoping to have a turnout of 1500 people.
