We have lots of talent to offer
Ask any "oldtimer" what they remember most about the good old days, and you're bound to hear of the Friday night get-togethers at
the local school or neighbours for some foot -stomping or recitations, with entertainment provided by family groups or friends.
From these Friday gatherings to Sunday morning services, voices and instruments blended together to create a harmony of work
and play.
Thus, it is fining that the Homecoming Weekend festivities include performances by a variety of talented Usborne residents, past
and present. Herein you will find resumes of some of the participants. Also included are portraits of several Usbornites who made music a big part of their
life and have now gone on to sing or play in God's chorus.
Craig and Scott Skinner
The Skinner brothers made their debut at the Usborne Central School Sprang Concert,
performing a ventriloquism comedy act. The boys have always been interested in riddles
and jokes, and have no doubt sparked a career in entertainment as they have been asked to
repeat their performance several times since.
Paul Brothers and Shirley
With over 6000 performances completed, 50 years of show business has carried Gerald,
and Leon Paul and Leon's wife Shirley from coast to cost in Canada and the US, by land..
sea and air.Roots of family fun in the 30s led to a professional career in 1946. Their pro-
gram varies from sacred to secular to hilarious.
