Fair board holds meeting in Zurich

meeting of the Agricultural Society
will be held an Wednesday, July 8
at 8:30 pin. at the Township hall.

Marian Shrine
Anyone interested in going to the
Mkrian Shrine of Our Lady of the
Rosary in St. Marys on Monday,
July 13 for a pilgrimage day with
Father Patrick Moore beginning
with mass al 11 am. should contact
St. Boniface CWL president Au-
drey Smith at 236-7342. Everyone
is asked to bring along a picnic
lunch.
Correction
A correction from last week, the
Lions Club will be helping out at
the youth camp in SL Marys to pre-
pare breakfast on Sunday, July 19.

Gerry Kane returned home re-
cently from a three-week holiday in
San Francisco visiting her daughter
Ann and Bob Besozzi and attended
the grade eight graduation of grand-
son Steven.
A dance was held at the Zurich
Community Centre Saturday in
honor of Ted and Jean Geoffrey's
45th wedding anniversary.
Dennis and Sue Rau celebrated
their 19th anniversary last Tuesday.

SHIPKA - Hugh and Annie Mo-
renz auended the 50th wedding an-
niversary party, Friday held for the
latter's sister and brother-in-law,
Mary and Art Finlayson of Sea -
forth, at the Community Centre in
Seaforth. The Morenz's were their
attendants as matron of honour and
best man when they were married
June 30, 1942, at the girls' parents
farm home southwest of Hensall.
Two of the Finlaysons' sons were
also celebrating summer wedding
anniversaries, Jim and Manan. and
Brad and Theresa.
Visiting with Hugh and Annie
Morenz on the weekend were rela-
tives who attended the Finlayson
anniversary, Peter and Maureen
Jackson, Scarborough, Beverley
Ford, Grand Valley, Shirley Dell,
Belleville and Tanya Dell of To-
ronto.
Christopher Plein, of Elmira
spent holidays last weekwith his
grandparents, Leota and Ferman
Snyder, his aunt, uncle and cou-
sins, Al Judy, Nicholas and Lisa
Snyder.
The Regier family, Tony, San-
dra, Chris, Heather and Jill, of
Mount Clemens, spent the Ameri-
can holiday at their cottage here
near St. Joseph and visited San-
dra's father, Ken Baker.
Kites to be
featured at
sandcastle
competition
GRAND BEND - As an Exeter
attraction for the Ontario Open
Sandcastle Competition which will
be held on July 18 and 19 at the
Port Blake Conservation area, on
Saturday Boreal Kites from Sparta
will be demonstrating some of their
kites.
These kites arc made of nylon
and are screen printed. The dye be-
comes part of the fabric and is in-
tensified when back lit by ilk sun.
They are the makers of the -only
hand printed lithographic kites in
North America. Saks have been
made all around the world includ-
ing Japan.
On Sunday, "The Twins" opera-
tor of the Kentucky Fried Chicken
outlets in the area will be on hand
with their "Mister Chicken" to put
on a show with prizes for the kids.

played in a summer hockey tourna-
ment along with Chad Ramer who
was also in Ottawa with his father,
Jim.

spent the weekend visiting with her
brother and family, Bill and Joanne
Duamann in Amherstburg and
spent Saturday at Bob -Lo Island.
Eugene and Shirley O'Brien,
along with Greg and Yvonne
O'Brien spent the weekend in Spar-
ta at Broken Wheel Horse Camp.
Victor and Irene Hartman, along
with Larry and Mary Hartman
spent the last month travelling by
car to see several places of interest
on the west coast.

Church on Sunday, the guest speak-
er was Michelene Montrevil of
Goderich who chose as her topic
"Call to Commitment". Next Sun-
day, July 12 the speaker will be
Jane Papple at 8:30 a.m. An official
board meeting will be held July 15
at Centralia church at 8 p.m.
Terry and Judy Morgan, Mark
and Melissa arrived home follow-
ing a two week vacation in Florida.
They report very hot and wet
weather while there.
Friday evening dinner guests
with Mary Kooy were Mary Davis,
Helen MacDonald and Howard Do-
lan.
On June 29 a good crowd gath-
ered at Heywoods restaurant for
their euchre. Prizes went to Grace
Wurm, Marjorie Steeper, Lulu Cul-
bert, Percy Noels, Howard Dolan
and Beth Knox. Next gathering will
be July 13 at 2:30 p.m.
