Panthers' undefeated bid broken
STRATf'ORD - The bid for an

Millyagalleeer ended l4riday as nIllisejtatior and senior squads of
South Huron lost identical 1-0 de-
cisions to St. Mike's Warriors in
Stratford.
In the first game, the senior Pan-
thers had problems mounting an at-
tack and found themselves trailing
1-0 at halftime.
The seniors managed to tegtoup
but were thwarted by some good
goaltending. The, squad finished
the regular season tied for first
place in their tier with Listowel
with a 4-1-1 record and will face
Wingham in a quarter -final match -
up Wednesday afternoon at South
Huron. Should the Panthers win,
they will see semi-final action at
home Friday against the winner of
a Goderich•Listowel'tIlt
In junior play, a late -goal •by St.
Mike's and some missedeopportuni-
ties' by South Huron resulted in the
first loss of the season for the de-
fending Hurn -Perth champs.

etin with a throw of 27.88 metres
and teammate Stacey Thurman
'was third at 26.56 metres. The
two also qualified for WOSSA in
the discus as Thurman was third

GRAND BEND - The fourth an-
nual Grand Bend Salmon Derby
may have been 10 days long, but it
only took Forest angler Norm Stu-
art a few short hours to win the
55,000 fast place prize.
Stuart's winning fish of 20.9
pounds was caught way back on
Saturday, May 9. The derby ran
from May 9 to May 18.
