from Manton attended the Kirkton

DASHWOOU - Last Tuesday the
Dashwood Women's Insitute met at
the community centre and enjoyed
a pot luck dinner with 16 members
,,and 12 visitors present.
The meeting opened with corn -
mrtents no Mother's Day and every
one participated in the words of
Somebody's Mother.
The roll call question was,
"Name a vee or shrub starting with
your initial." Members introduced
her Grandma.
The secretary's report was given
by Dorothy Kostmayer, the treas-
urer's report by Kaethe Freider and
the motto by Edith Baker.
The club held eight draws for
plants and Jennifer and Amanda
Weigand entertained the group with
dancing. Lois Hodgins, the district
president, was guest speaker and
showed her antique kitchen ware as
well as announce the work of the
district institute.
Conveners were Martha Wei-
gand, Edith Baker and '7<atethc
Freiter. The district annual will be
held in Dashwood on May21.

During the business, some future
events were discussed. Betty Dann
continued the program with an arti-
cle "A free and unhateful hart".
Each member then gave a poem
or reading on Mother's Day and
Betty closed the program by read-
ing Momma made a clean sweep.
