The Exeter Hawks put the wraps on a fine Development League season Saturday evening with their annual awards banquet held at the Masonic Lodge Hall. Arrangements made for CWL members to attend Diocesan Convention By Roberta Walker GRAND BEND - The Catholic Women's League of Immaculate Heart of Mary parish met on April 21 in the Alhambra Hall with 22 members in attendance. Final arrangements were made for members attending the Dioce- san Convention in Sarnia at the Canterbury Inn. It was agreed to fully fund costs for both delegates and to pay 50 percent for any oth- ers who attend. The annual Provin- cial CWL Convention will be held from July 7-9 in Waterloo, Ontario. An invitation was received to a Ser- endipity Workshop (How to get and keep members; Leadership Training) on Saturday, May 23 at Regina Mundi in London from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rev. Joe Hardy will Huron Country Playhouse Guild meets By Roberta Walker GRAND BEND - The Huron Country Playhouse Guild held their annual Membership Meeting at the Oakwood Inn Convention Centre on Wednesday, April 22. Over 70 ladies attended the luncheon meet- ing, chaired by Shirley Platt. Guests and new members were welcomed, and membership drair- man Dee Thurston reminded every- one that membership fees were due and name tags could be ordered. The Build has obtained a charitable number, and tax receipts can now be issued. Project Chairman Shirley McIn- tyre gave an update of the -projected projects for the summer of 1992. A second hand refrigerator has been donated by Drysdale's in Hensall, for the kitchen to be set up in the farmhouse at the Playhouse. This is a great asset for the food catering service offered in the summer. Each of the committee chairs gave a report: 1. Jean Clapperton - Play Reading and Research; 2. Gift Baskets - Madelaine Arnsby; 3. Flower Planting - Melba Landstrom and Anne Didier; 4. Clerical - Ka- thy Campbell; 5. Catering - Betty ' Williamson; 6. Store Sales Staff - Mary Andrews; 7. Marathon Bridge - Marlene Brenner, 8. Fash- ion Show - Frances F 'ler Jr.; 9. Parade on June 20 - R 'toldicc; 10. Art Show and Sate; .at Ven - ton. .Over $1,600 was raised at the 'Mangos held during April; many thanks to all members who helped in this project fund raiser. The May meeting will feature background music played ,from this season's musicals, with guest apealcer, Bill Heinsohn, who will ;reflect on the early days of the playhouse.
