the Exeter Bethel Reformed
Church, Marfa Kathleen,
daughter of Gabriel and Mar-
garet Mol, and 'William Gary,
son of Marion and "the late
Roger Urquhart were united in
marriage. Rev. Siebrand Wilts
officiated. Reception ,and din-
ner followed at the Kirkton
Woodham Community Centre.
Bridesmaids were Elizabeth
Mol, Lisa Needham and Pau-
line Van Der Ley. Groom's :at-

Dining for
Seniors springs
into Spring
EXETER - Each dining day is
started off with a welcome from
Jeanne Gladding. The singing of
0' Canada and our Grace is led
by Pat Skinner and Grant Milts.
March 3 - The Lamports and
John Del3oeck were welcomed
back. The draw prize was won
by Vera Bullock, and keyboard
music was. provided by Maxine
Sereda. Our special entertain-
ment for this programme fea-
tured two youth from Precious
Blood School, Michael Hodgins
and Lawrence Cole. Michael
spoke on the mystery surround-
ing John F. Kennedy's death and
Lawrence covered the topic of
Magic Johnson and the AIDS
question. A sympathy card was
sent to Georgina Engler.
March 10 - Jean Hodgen on
keyboard. Gladys Skinner won
the draw prize. Jeanne told a few
;jokes. The Exeter Drop In Pro-
--gramme -is open:to anyone, eve-
ry Thursday from 9 to 1:00.
March 17 - Robert and Aileen
Wilson (parents of Dawne Erb)
were welcomed, and Bernice
Gregson is back from the Grand
Cayman Islands. A card was
sent to Wilma Davis who is in
the hospital. Jim Gladding gave
two readings: "When Huckly'
pulled the rabbit from the hat,"
and "The pan of me that's Irish"
'by Edna Jacques. A free Income,
Tax Clinic %atslheld in the board
roma. Pat end Grant _treated us
to a •duet when they sang,
"When Irish Eyes are Smiling".

March 24 - Ina Johns won the
draw prize. Jean Hodgen presid-
ed on keyboard. Marry Jeffery
and Ray Cann with Jean provid-
ed a good mucical programme
for our enjoyment. Two Exeter
Public School students, Erin Ro-
billiard and Julie Godbolt pre-
sented -their public speaking

'March 31 - Pat and Grant sang
a duet of the song "Lord of the
Lands". Maxine Sereda was on
keyboard. Five birthdays were
celebrated with cake, ice cream.
Draw prizes were won by Mil-
dred Thomson and Mary Neil.
There is carpet bowling and Tai
Chi exercises every Thursday
morning at the Drop In. A sing-
song and games followed.
A reminder: On April 7, the
Exeter Public School Choir will
visit, and to bring a friend to our
Easter Anniversary special on
April 14.
Rebekahs enjoy supper
EXETER - The women of Pride of Huron Rebekah Lodge gathered for a
pot -luck supper in honour of DDP Irene Cantelon's official visit. Special
efforts had been made to decorate the lodge room in an Easter theme. Our
meeting was opened in long form with novel grand Bernice Ford presid-
ing, assisted by vice -grand Bea Bowman. Seven members from Clinton
and two members from Seaforth were welcomed. Helen Coates past -noble
grand reported the Humanitarian Service Committee next euchre will be
April 8. Cantelon gaveiber-message and led the members in reciting the
Rebekah creed. She spate on the importance of increasing our decreasing
membership and quoted the slogan "It's up to you in '92". She urged all to
pass on the Rebekahood and closed by inviting all to join in the singing of
"Pass 1t On".
Lodge closed followed by singing of Blest be the tie that Binds.

Growing Irises April 9/92 7-10 p.m. $15
The owners and operators of McMillan's Iris Garden will discuss how to
grow, propagate and care for irises and talk about the characteristics of
the many varieties available.
Landscaping with Ornamental Grasses April 22/92 7-10 p.m. $20
Learn about the various grasses you can grow that will add a new look
to your garden. Topics covered include indentifying grasses, planting
and maintenance how-to's.
Composting and Home Gardening April 23, 30/92 7-10 p.m. $20
For beginners and experienced home gardeners. This course features
information on mulching, preparing the seed bed and cultivation prac-
tices. The course emphasizes alternatives to commercial fertilizers and
herbicides. Participants also learn how to grow transplants from seed
and cultural practices for unusual vegetables species.
Growing Perennials May 12 & 19/92 7-10 p.m. $30
For variety in your home landscape, consider the investment in peren-
nial 1bwer beds. Participants learn to identity perennials, when each
blooms, colour of the flower, how to propagate each, and how to plan a
Hower bed.

Exeter Lodge .honours veteran'mernbers
KIRKTON - On January 27,
1871 the Exeter Lodge No. 67 In-
dependent Order of Oddfellows
was formed and has been thriving
ever since that date.
On Saturday March 28, 1992, a
celebration was held in the Kirk -
ton -Woodham centre to celebrate
the annual Friendship Night and to
pay tribute to a number of their
older members.
Two hundred and fifty members
and their friends enjoyed dinner
prepared by the ladies of the
Thames Road Church.

Bro., Bruce Delbridge co-chaired
the entertainment and introduced
the special guests including Percy
Nocls,•Deportment Commander Pa-
triarch Militant of Ontario, Sis. Pat
Frayne, President of the Rebekah

Auxiliary Patriarch Militant of On-

The Chords of Woodham, a made
quartet comprising Gordon John-
son. Harry Herr, Ken Blackler, and
Glenn Copeland provided some en-
tertaining four-part harmony en-
joyed by all present.
As previously mentioned a num-
ber of veterans were honoured - PG
Norm Stanlake and Bro. Irwin Pord
were eligible to receive 60 -year
