-The Panthers =bad a very
succesful regular season, ;going
undefeated in their` Tier II sched-
ule, winning the HtuunPerth
junior title by default before be-
ing eliminated by London Cen-
iral at WOSSA.
Although he only scored four
-points-in-Wednesday's classic,
Agnew has been a mainstay with
the junior squad this past season
and -was -hind -of disappointed -the
Panthers had to beat St. Marys: by
default for the Huron -Perth
crown.
"1 think . we could have beaten
them," said Agnew.
It was the Grade 11 student's
first all-star game and he was
looking forward to it before mov-
ing up to the senior ranks next
fall.
Against London Central, the
Panthers went in as the eighth
seeded team while South were
number one.
"We played preuy well. They
had a good press defence against
us." said Agnew. "Wc hadn't
•
come up against very many good
teams to that calibre."
The senior boys' basketball pro-
gram at South Huron looks to be a
bright one with Agnew and sever-
al other talented juniors including
Stuart and Crawford moving up.
Agnew knows what he has to
work on.
"I'm 41 consistent with my
shooting. Through the years I've
had my strong games and my real-
- ly weak games."
'Enron .trailed the all-star game
25-24 at the half but with the help
of Goderich's Andrew Geiger's six
points in the fourth quarter pulled
out the win. Paul Renaud. also of
-Goderich had eight points while
: •Seaforth's Brent Whitmore netted
nine.
-In-the Senior All-Star Game it
was the best of Perth County win-
- Hing easily 80-60. Panthers' Pete
McAllister had 10 points while
Ilsett Rideout added three.
.Stratford Northwestern's Greg
:,Robinson led the winners with 14
points while John Lemmon of
Mitchell hit for 13.

On Saturday Exeter played a fair-
ly strong third period but still their
offence lacked a finishing punch.
With captain Fred Godbolt break-

Clinton went into a defensive
shell and although the Generals had
a few chances, they couldn't score.
"I think we took it to them in the
third period," said Szabo.

STEPHEN TOWNSHIP - The
Stephen Township Novice Kings
had lots to celebrate Sunday after-
noon after clinching the W.O.A.A.
"CC" novice tide beating Durtnarn
three games to one.
With some doubts as to whether
they should move from an "E" cen-
tre to a "CC" centre for playoff for-
mat, the Kings showed they were
in the right division.
After a 1-1 tic, the local team
travelled to Durham on Saturday
and came away with a 2-0 win.

Coach Dick Lord was delighted
with his boys winning the title. "It's
great to have the boys win in front
of a home crowd. I felt with the
smaller ice surface at home that if
Ibe boys kept shooting on net, they
p1dd come up with the win."
"It's been a great year and one
that the boys will certainly remem-
ber"
