EXETER - A student who is en- rolled lathe School Workplace Ap- prenticeship Program at South Hu- ron District High School is currently attending the Program's annual conference in Tomato next week. Brian McLeod, a grade 12 stu- dent involved in auto mechanics, will also have the opportunity to meet with Richard Alien, the Min- ister of Skills Development. The School Workplace Appren- ticeship Program allows a student to attend high school and train as a registered_ apprentice_ _ a�Blt tiled uade at the Mune time. As with all apprentices, employers pay wages for on-the-job training, based on normal :apprenticeship wage fates. The program is jointly administered by the Ministry of Skills Develop- ment and the Ministry of Educa- tion. The two-day conference at the Delta Chelsea Inn was :attended by stakeholders in the Pray -tun such as participating school boards, em- ployers and onions. business and eduction associations, community organizations, colleges ,and federal government repreeentatives.
