The frogs haven't been
singing in the swamp yet.
But the snows have almost
disappeared, the robins
have been around for a
while. I saw a red -winged
blackbird-the_other.day
and heard a killdeer. The
Canada geese and the
wood ducks have been
chugging up and down the creeks, some looking for nesting
sites and some just passing through.. Spring must be here, or at
least well on the way. March has been so cold and has never
seemed to me like part of the spring. But, April, the month of
reawakenings, when it finally arrives, l can finally believe that
winter is-truly-overand springing April,the:month
that takes its name from the Latin word APERIRE meaning
TO OPEN. The month when grass turns green, buds begin to
burst on bushes and tries, and the flowers begin to sprout in
the.ganden. I saw someone out raking the lawn the other day,
andsomeone else cleaning windows. (Spring.always makes
