EXETER - For the second
year in a row , the Exeter Lions
Club heated their district's effec-
tive speaking contest at the

Friday evening, seven top
high-school competitors from as
tar away as Guelph, Kitchener,
and Belwood, did their best to
impress judges from the London
Toastmasters in both a 5-7 min-
ute prepares speech, and a 2-3
minute impromptu talk.
The category with the most
compotities was the Senior Boys
English das with three competi-
tors, imarnilw Exeter's own Rob
Mizzi. The overall winner was Aa-
ron Musial from Belwood.
Sandra Coulus, sponsored by the
Bayfield Lions, won the Senior
Exeter's Rob Mal speaks during Friday's high school public speaking contest hosted
the Exeter Lions Club.
Girls English title against a
Kitchener rival.
Kevin Krudwig of Guelph and
Denise Mader of lnnerkip won
the uncontested Senior Boys
French and Junior Girls English
categories, respectively.
All winners will be going on
to represent District 15 at the up-
coming finals in Toronto.
"These competitions have
probably been. running .S0
years," explained Exeter Lions
president John Stephens Friday
evening.
Stephens also pointed out that
while this is the second year run-
ning that Exeter has hosted the
effective speaking contest, they
are normally rotated around the
district, but the Exeter facility.
has proven popular with the or-
ganization.
Unfortunately, due to the con-
test coinciding with the school
