Golden Glimpses
ZURICH - We are a couple of
weeks behind in our news letter due
to vacation time for the staff.
The regular monthly Auxiliary
meeting and program for the resi-
dents was held on the usual date.
Musical numbers were provided by
Lloyd Ouerbein and Art and Elean-
or Horst_ Idella Gabel favoured
with several piano selections. Hel-
en Ouerbein, Mary Ducharme and
Gertie Fleischauer all read poems.
The residents welcomed the
Christian Reformed choir last Tues-
day evening when they presented
their messages in song.
March 17 was "Green Day" when
everyone came dressed for the oc-
casion. Calvin Fahrner presented a
video of a musical group "The
Husslers". On Wednesday after-
noon, a Si Patrick's Tea was held
for the residents and their guests.
Please note that on Friday, April
3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Geri Fash-
ions will be displaying their com-
fort and regular clothing. All are
welcome to come and browse or
purchase, if so desired.
The sympathy of residents and
staff is extended to the families of
the late Frederick Smart, Edwin
Gascho and Ethel Regier.
Ministers who have been in
charge of the Chapel Services dur-
mg the past two weeks were: Rev.
Doug Wright, Rev. Stephen Alles
and Fr. Peter Hayes.
We welcome Ethel Atkinson, a
former Exeter resident.
Bingo is still an important part of
the residents' Friday evening enter-
tainment.

CENTRALIA - Don't forget the
potluck dinner at the United
Church on Friday, March' 27 at
6:30 p.tn. followed by an evening
of games. The Stonetown Singers
of St. Marys will be at the church
on April 3. Tickets are $3.50 for
adults and children free. The mes-
sengers go to Zurich for a bowling
party April 12. Bus leaves the
church at 11:20 to 3 p.m.
Word was received on Saturday
of the death of Ken Greb, a long
time resident of the village. He
passed away at South Huron Hospi-
tal, Exeter after a lengthy illness.
Sympathy goes to his wife Mildred,
son Wayne and Sonia and family.
Sunday evening dinner guests
with Mary Kooy were Helen Mac-
Donald, Joyce and Peter Sovereign
and Howard Dolan.
At the euchre at the community
centre on March 16 prize winners
were Labelle Harness, Bob Blair,
Doris Hamilton, Torn Emery, Kay
Armstrong, Bill Ganley. Next eu-
chre will be held March 30 at 8
p.m.

The dime for the week of March
22nd is Decision, whit prayer
maps meeting at various homes in
the pariah. There are two weeks re-
making in the program prior to the
Baster preparation.
Brownies
A bus toad of Brownies from Zu-
rich and Hensall took a trip to the
Children's Museum in London
'icy. Children were excited
to view a live python as well as a
porcupine puffer and an iguana.
Work-A-Thon
Ladies of the Lutheran Church,
held their annual work-a-thon last
Tuesday and were kept busy quilt-
ing and tying quilts which will be
used by the less fortunate.
A potluck supper was held and
on Sunday a branch was held as a
fund raiser in the fellowship hall

The Gospel Music Concert will
'be held at the Cannel Presbyterian
Church in Hamill on March 29 at
7 p.m. featuring the group, Deci-
sion. The leader of the group is
'Wayne Ropp from Tavistock who
has a number of relatives in the
area.
Bean Sprouts
The Bean Sprouts nursery school
are presently taking orders from the
Regal Book until the end of March.

Zurich Buckeyes
The Buckeyes hockey team trav-
elled to Chicago over the weekend
to compete in a tournament and
emerged champions.
Skating
Over 100 children _tuned out to
take advantage of the free skating
and hot chocolate at the arena last
Wednesday compliments of the OD -
timist Club.
Rose Sunday
On Sunday, March 29 the
Knights of Columbus will be hav-
ing Rose Sunday at all Catholic
Churches. The money raised from
this will support the Right to Life
fight against abortion.
Bus Trip
A bus trip is being offered to Dol-
Iywood, Gatlinburg and Pigeon
Forge from July 7-11. Anyone in-
terested should call for reservations
at 236-4052.
'Personals
An open house will be held at the
Blue Water Rest Home on Sunday,
March 29 to help John Soldan cele-
brate his 90th birthday. Everyone
is welcome to the event which will
he held from 2-4 p.m.
Congratulations to Cern and Ka-
thy Steckle on the arrival of Shawn
Daniel.
Coby and Arnold VandenBoo-
men are thrilled with the arrival of
Boniface
a grandson, Matthew, born to Tony
and Sally VandenBoomen.
