ZURICH - The Zurich ani : ca
skating club carnival was held Su
day and everyone did a great job.
The costumes were terrific and so
cute for the various themes from
"On Broadway".
Special guest skaters were Cory
Watson and Tiina Muur from the
Preston Club. Senior club members
doing solos were: Krista Schi'.be,
Julie Semple, Marcia -lee De-
nomme, Crystal Jones, Shelley
Miller, Elyshia Denomme and Jen-
nifer Overholt.
Kub Kar
The first Zurich Cub Pack attend-
ed the Huron District Kub Kar rally
held • in Lucan on Saturday, March
7 with seven boys placing in the
top 20.
Zurich pack came home with first
price for the fastest cars going to
Ben Bedour with a speed of 2.7836
seconds and Joe Debus placed sec-
ond with an average of 2.7911 sec-
onds.
Zurich also placed well with Ja-
cob Bervoets winning "best paint
job" for boys only category while
Joel Regier won "best paint job for
adult assisted category".
In the adult category, Jim Zim-
merman won most points in the
original category.
There were 21 boys and 10 adults
going to the rally from the Zunch
area.
Lions Club
The Lions Club held their last
meeting at the Dominion Tavern on
Monday beginning at 7 p.m. with
dinner for 40 people.
Special guest speaker for the eve-
ning was MPP Elmer Buchanan,
Minister of Agriculture and Food,
along with his wife.
iiuron MPF Paul Klopp and his
wife were also present.
Each Lion invited a farmer friend
as well.
Upcoming dates to remember
are: March 24, Zone meeting in

ing; April 10-12: Lions convention

Knights of Columbus
The St. Boniface Knights of Co-
lumbus Council held their monthly
meeting at the parish hall last Mon-
day.
Guest speaker for the evening
was District Deputy Bro. Ted
Thuss.
Receiving 25 yr. pins were: Bro.
Joe Regier and Bro. Steve Mciding-
er.
A second degree meeting is being
planned for April 5 in London at
Mary immaculate Church hall, and
a third degree night is coming up
on May 3 in London.
There were three transfers to the
Zuricb council last month from the
Scafonh Council, which brings
their membership up to 72 now.
Plans are underway for their an-
nual "Monte Carlo Night" to be
held on Friday, May I at the Zurich
Community Centre.
Harmony Kings •
The Seaforth Harmony Kings
will be having thoir tenth anniver-
sary "Barbershop Show" at the Sea -
forth Community Centre on Satur-
day, April 4 with theme being
"Broadway".
The afternoon performance be-
gins at 2 p.m. and cost S6 per per-
son. The evening show starts at 8
p.m. and cost is S8 per person.

A surprise graduation party was
held for Maureen Vanden Boomen
last Saturday night at the home of
her parents Arnold and Coby
denBoomen, RR2 Hensel!.
Maureen is presently working in
Kitchener.
Sally Francis of London is spend-
ing a few days visiting with rela-
tives in Zurich being, sisters Kay
Hay and Fala Smale and a brother
Gord Hay.
Renee Sweeney is spending the
March break visiting with a girl-
friend, Missy McDonald and fami-
ly in Kitchener.
Calvin and Mary Gingerich visit-
ed with their daughter Anita and
family in Waterloo over the week-
end.
Dorothy Volland of Hensall was
the lucky 51,000 jackpot winner at
the bingo in Zurich last Thursday.
Andrew and Alida Rau returned
home from a six week holiday in
Florida at Port Charloue, along
with their son Dick and Barb Rau.
They were joined by Dave and Su-
zanne from Windsor and Lori Bran-
don and Lisa Rau.
Don and Betty Oke returned back
home last week after being away on
holidays in the sunny south.
The Oldtimers hockey players
along with their wives and some
fans went by bus to "Lake Placid"
over the weekend as they took part
in a hockey tournament.
Hubert and Marg Schilbe re-
turned home recently from a five
work vacation in Honda
Ray and Rebecca Geromette
from St. Clair Shores, Michigan
spent the weekend with her mother,
Nora Corriveau at the Spruce Villa
Apartments.
Isidore and Paula LaPorte recent-
ly enjoyed spending a two week
holiday at Daytona Beach in Flori-
da.
Shawn LaPorte is spending the -
March break in Florida with his
grandparents.
