tember 28, 1991 at 2:00 in
the aftemoon- at Our tally of
Mount .Carate!- Church: Father
Bagatto officiated. Reception
and dinner followed at At-
wood Community Centre. At-
tendants were Darrin LeGoff,
Glen Winegarden, Gary Gla-
vin. Bill Lessard, Scott Hor-
ton and Casey Lessard.
Bridesmaids were Patty Hor-
ton, JoAnne Gibson, Sandra
Kennedy, Heather Ament,
Rhonda Kennedy and Jodi
Walsh.
Hensall Beaver Pack visits Queensway
HENSALL - The delicious scent of warm shortbread
wafted through the halls Monday afternoon when bak-
ing club made shortbread Shamrock cookies with just a
hint of green food colouring.
Tuesday afternoon residents rose to the occasion
when the ice storm prevented the pastor from arriving.
Residents and staff submiucd verses that were mean-
ingful to them to be read. Prayers were said, and lucki-
ly, Joyce Pepper our volunteer pianist was able to be
there.
Maple Spring, a film about maple syrup was shown
Thursday afternoon. Following the filth residents remi-
nisced about their own sap gathering experiences, in-
cluding pancake suppers and taffy pulls.
Thursday evening, Hensall Beaver Pack visited and
assisted residents in a Shamrock Craft project. Young
and old alike had a great time and our evening ended
with Green Kiwi Fruit juice and green mint nanaimo
bars.
Friday brought a pampering session as ladies gath-
ered for ladies hour, which included hand soaks, lotion
massages and nail polish. Audrey Christie arrived as
our euchre volunteer in the Rest Horne sunroom Friday
afternoon.
Quilling and games with the Zurich Mennonite .
Women was the highlight Saturday afternoon. Our
baby guilt, set up by volunteer Jeanette Turner will
soon be finished.

Granton athlete voted top rook

GRANTON - Becky Bryan, a
student at King's College in Lon-
don, has been voted top rookie on
the University of Western Ontario
track and field team. Becky oom-
peted at the Canadian University
Indoor track and field champion-
ships held in Winnipeg this past
weekend. She placed second in the
60 metre hurdles, running a person-
al best of C87 seconds and third in
the high jump._ ___- _ -
A good crowd enjoyed the popu-
lar annual Oyster and ham supper
held at the Granton Masonic Hall
on Saturday evening. Former Gran-
tonites Bill and Norma German of
Burlington attended.
Kenneth and Olive Hodgins ac-
companied by Glen and Marion
Hall -and son Jason'f London -were
Sunday guests with, John and Terry
Herbert and Andrew of Stratford.
Sympathy is extended to the fam-
ily of Robert Hardie who died on
Saturday evening at Craigholme in
-Ailsa Craig.

tered for the dinner meeting of
Court Carlton Forester's Lodge at
the Lion's Hall on Tuesday eve-
ning.
The Anglican parish bible study
was cancelled last Thursday after-
noon because of stormy weather.
At the St. Thomas' Anglican
Church on Sunday, the Reverend
Stephen Emery led the service of
morning prayer and based his ser-
mon on the fall of Sodom and Go-
morrah concluding that Lent is a
time to reflect on attitudes.
Betty Ann Waugh and the minis-
ter read the lessons.
At the Granton United Church on
Sunday, Pastor Normahe Voakes'
sermon topic was Fox Alert.

the United Church last Monday
evening. Julie McColl led the bible

teem. The guest speaker was Joan
Birchall of Ilderton who demon-
strated massage therapy and told
about the benefits in relaxing
stressed muscles. .
