He attended Ingersoll District Collegiate and completed his pre - chiropractic education at the University of Westem Onta- rio, London, where he earned -his Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education. He served his preceptorship at a private clinic in Bloomington, MN. Queensway Auxiliary meets HENSALL - Monday morn- ing wayssian AtilDiscVolunteer fo- cused on ways to asqpand the Auxiliary. A decision was made to have each Auxiliary member invite a guest to the next mooting, March 2. We will provide information and discussion on our purpose and ways we can help meet the needs of the residents. Kippen UCW were welcomed Mon- day afternoon as they provided assistance and prizes for bin- go. Rev. Wright of Hensall United Church led the worship service Tuesday afternoon with Joyce Pepper as pianist. Due to inclement weather, The Christian Reform Singers were unable to come. The mo- vie "Show Boat" was shown instead. Rest Home residents en- - joyed Euchre -with Eileen 3tan- nie on Thursday afternoon. It was a beautiful sunny day, a perfect way to benefit from time spent in the Rest Home gunroom. Baking Club met Friday af• - ternbon. We mixed up a dou- ble batch of delicious short bread cookies made with but- ter of course. The recipe is from our Queensway Cook- book. Just to get into the Val- entine mood, we cut them into heart shapes and sprinkled with red sparkles. Coby and Irvin Ammoral provided a special valentine music program on Saturday af- ternoon and residents enjoyed serving our shortbread hearts. Coming events: February 14, 2 p.m., Valentines Party; February 20, 2 p.m. Volunteer Appreciation Party. If you have shared your time and talents at Queensway Nursing Home this past year, you are invited to our Volun- teer Appreciation Party. Friendship Circle in Hensall By Vanessa Cook HENSALL - Members were welcomed to the February 3 meeting of the Friendship Circle of Hensall United Churchby chairperson Shirley McAl- lister with a poem "The Heart is a Well." During the business there was an update on the Boy Scout Korean pro- ject and on the London Conference Ethiopian Development project and on Five Oaks. Tickets were available for the Foodgrains Luncheon at Hensall United Church February 11. . It was decided that the World Day of Prayer Service at the Presbyterian Church.would be the March meeting. Helen McLean's devotion featured a column by Shirley Ircdller from "Fo- cus" magazine, "Recycling used to be called Thrifty." This brought back many memories among the group. A study workshop on "Women in Pov- erty" with everyone participating followed. This topic will continue at the April meeting. The basement was decorated with tulips, a bluebird and patio furni- ture. Laurel Miner welcomed everyone and gave the call to warship "En- joyment of ow environment". The ladies sang 'Thr the Beauty of the Earth." Hilda Kellog rad the scripture, Genesis 1:1-19. Kathy Bray read a poem, Winter Gifts. The offering was received and Ju- dith Packer offered prayer. Parker road Witter Walk and in- iroduced'Kathy -Monk from the Ausable Bayfield conservation au- ttu ty, who took the group on a walk\tuough the Conservation are- as in our vicinity with her slide presentation of the watershed. She gave an excellent presentation which was very much enjoyed. She was thanked by Kathy Bray, and was presented with a basket of gay. Miner closed the first pan of the mewing with prayer. Preside= Judith Parker opened the business part of the meedng with a poem. Minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. Roll call was answered with a Bible verse with the world "love" in it. Cards of thanks were read, also letters from the Gideon and Camp Menesetung. The date for the strawberry sup- per was set. Parker gave a report of the annual Huron -Perth Presbytery meeting whidt was held at Gode- rich recency. World Day of Prayer is on March 6 at Trivia Memorial Church in Ex- eter. Lund was served by group W, which brought a very enjoyable evening to a close. Chard service Rev_ Sheila Macgregor was in charge of the regular church service on Sunday morning. The people sang the children's hymn "What a friend we have in Jesus". Rev. Macgregor's message and sermon was on prayer. The scrip- ture lesson was taken from Mat- thew 6. Minute for Mission was tread by Jackie Morgan. The choir sang an anthem accompanied by organist Agnes Bray. The fellowship hour was hosted by Floyd and Margaret Stewart and June Stewart. Coding eveals On Wednesday, February 19 the official Board meeting at ElimviUe begins with a pot luck supper at 6:30 p.m., meeting to follow. Thames Road provides the first cause, Elimvilk the dessert, The E.T. Loonie 'fames meet Thursday, February 20 at Thames Road, parking at 5:15 p.m. to go bowling at Zurich. Children will be returning to Thames Road for cake. Parents are to pick up children at Thanes Road Church at 8:30 p.m. Each child is asked to bring 53.00.
