Ecumenical
service in Exeter
EXETER - The -executive of she
South Huron Ministerial organized
a special ecumenical service -at the
Exeter United Church on Sunday,
January 26: The event celebrates
Christian Unity Week, and though
atrmdance was a bit disappointing,
the message of the service was in-
spiring. Rev. Stephen Alies of Zu-
rich Lutheran Church, Rather Pau!
Beck of (Card Bard Roman Cath-
olic Chtirch and Rev. Jeannie Udall
of Centralia United Church were
the worship leaders. Rev. John Hil-
born, new pastor of Exeter United,
delivered the homily. Doctor Ralph
Topp was organist for the com-
bined choir. Roberta Welker of
Grand Bend immaculate fart of
Mary) was guest soloist. She- per-
formed the Pani Angelicus : : the
aria Come Unto Him from Mes-
siah, accompanied by Paul
Dietrich.
Rev. Hilbom spoke abeut the
need for a demonnration of unity
amongst Christians in an increas-
ingly secular world.
Refreshments were served `after-
wards, and a time of feiiowsbip en-
joyed by all those whaatte ded.
Women's
Ministries meet
EXETER - The Woman's Minis-
tries from the Exeter Pentecostal
Tabernacle was held in the Lome of
Ella Tinney on January 30.
Jean Triebner presided over the
service and -led in the hymn "He's
Coining Soon" and "My Redeem-
er".
Ruth McLaren opened the meet-
ing with prayer.
Inihe business meeting u was de-
cided to send money to the North-
land Missions. They also decided to
send money to the adopted Mis-
sionary's daughter Bernice Koster
from the Netherlands, and money
to the boys school in India
Letters were read Morn some Mis-
sionaries by Marion Triebner and
Shirley Prouty.
Ruth McLaren gave a Missionary
reading on Sunrise in Asia, and the
work in 'Thailand. A solo was given
by Shirley Prouty entified Wonder
fulLaord.

The group then had prayer by
Ella Turney, Jean Teichner, Helen
Kendrick and Jenny Kipfer.
