The Huskies, captained by Rick Masse emerged as the eventual champions. Runner's up were the Young Guns captained by Dan Masse and each were presented with trophies provided by Erb's Country Kitchen. Zurich scoots The Zurich boy Scouts went camping over the weekend at Georgians Hill near Arva. The four leaders and six scouts made ice huts which they slept in and enjoyed various outdoor activities such as hiking and tobogganing. Senior diners Members of the Zurich Senior Diners enjoyed dinner last Wednesday evening at the Zurich Community Centre. Tammy Antaya welcomed everyone, especially first-time diners Alfred and Rose Priest. Antaya read a poem and Gertie Fleischauer followed with a second entitled, "Winter Evenings." Games of bingo, solo and euchre were later enjoyed. Personals Wallace and Marie Gingerich, accompanied by their daughter Dawn from London, have returned from a month vacation in Florida where they visited with their other daughter Bonnie and husband Darrel McKillop. Harry and Wilma Pennings have returned from a five-month stay in New Zealand visiting with their nephew along with Harry's brother Jos and Bertha who had travelled there from Holland. The latter couple re- turned to Zurich with the Pennings for a week before returning to the Netherlands. . Gerry Banks spent last week visiting with sister Cecile and Leo Mei- dinger. Arnold and Coby Vanden Boomen returned home this weekend from a holiday in Florida with friends. Birthday wishes are extended to Connie Lewis, Melis a Jeffrey, Tim- my Hay, Michael Crete and to the Klopp twins Ted and Lorne who will turn 80 this week. A surprise'60 h birthday party was held Saturday for Bill Masse giv- enby his children. Hurondale WI meet HENSALL - Canadian was the theme chosen by the Hurondale Women's Institute for their January meeting at the home of Marilyn Pym. Tribute was paid to the memory of Anna Ballantyne, a life member. The roll call was answered by one reason we should appreciate living in Canada and the many free- doms were mentioned most. Marilyn Pym, Olive Hicks, Ma- bel Stanlake and Helen Webber outlined the history of the Canadian flag and flag etiquette. After an in-depth study of herald- ry regarding flags and months and years of parliamentary andpolitical wrangling, the unique Canadian flag was adopted. The flag is to be flown above all of other flags and is to be lowered each evening. Members were pleased to learn that Marian Dougall has been ap- pointed New Branch Organizer with the London Convention Area. This is a new office and the W.I. wishes Marian well. Invitations were extended to at- tend the Kirkton W.I. 90th anniver- sary, March 26, the Usbome town- ship Skating Party February 29 to 'contact Mona Alderdice for work- shops and to help quilt a quilt for a member at the home of Gladys Richardson. Crediton 4-H members discuss their animals CREDITON - The Rist meeting of the Crediton 4-H club was held on January 29 with president Mary Anne Grotentraast in charge. Other members of the executive are vice-president Denise Pfaff, secretary 1.aisa Clarke and press re- porter Amanda Schenk. leaders are Glenda Wuerth and Carolyn Pritch- ard At the meeting, members talked about their favourite animals, how much they eat and the treatment they require. The next club meeting will be to- night, Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Stephen Township Community Hall in Crediton.
