said Urhn should take the message
to the committee that the goal of
the town this year is to see a zero -
percent increase in every expense.
Mickle later brought up the issue
of how some Ontario town's have
other less expensive arrangements
for policing. He said Ridgetown
has a contract with the local OPP
detachment to provide five officers
and 22 hours of patrolling a .day at
a frost of some S295,000 a year.
"It shows there is another way of
policing in this town," said Mickle,
r
who added that Ridgetown has still
to install a Police Services Board
and have not yet been pressed into
it by the province, as Exeter was
last week.
"There are still people out there
fighting the good fight," said Mick -
le.
